Scanning stuff with a virus checker does NOT detect new, novel or hand-crafted threats!
To be safe: Block it with your firewall (to stop any outbound connections), use ProcessGuard (to make sure it can't inject anything into another trusted app) and preferably use a user area with limited permissions (to make sure the installer doesn't hide something in the depths of the Windows OS).
Even if you were to disassemble it and check out all the imports, you cannot be 100% sure that it doesn't have something hidden in a packed area of the exe without spending hours and hours on it (unless its an incredibly simple app, which this isn't by the look of it).
