***DISCLAIMER - this will be a commercial mod when it's finished***
I've been working on a new note taking system for awhile, and I've been testing it out the past week or so. I find it enormously helpful. I always liked the idea of being able to "label" players based on their playing style. Using a color system is good, but I find using an actual image that visually describes the villian's stye to be much better.
I've always been mainly a tournament player, but I'm trying to play more cash games now and I'm realizing just how important it is to quickly identify the fish/donks to isolate them or try to get involved in pots when they are in the blinds. It's also very helpful to identify the other playing styles to react accordingly.
What I've done with this mod is to utilize the default Avatar images from FTP and replace the note icons (rank diodes) with these images so that I can "label" villians with my choosing of the appropriate Avatar.
I found that the racetrack view is more suitable for this system. Because clicking "Display Avatars" on the options menu shifts the players names and stack size to the left, creating plenty of room for the rank diodes. I then simply removed the default FTP avatar images and shifted the rank diodes to appear in the player pods as avatar images.
Take a look at the image below to see the player pods I created with the avatar images as the note symbols.
Notice the arrow in the screenshot. You will actually be able to see the avatars in the note dropdown box. The table and background will not be included in the final mod. But, it's available for free in a previous post I made ITT. Also note that although I'm using the racetrack view, it's easy to create a "classic view" feel by replacing the racetrack table with a round table.
Here is a key for how I utilize this system by player type.
This system will definitely help with good table selection (it's the reason I created it). A letter will appear in the lobby to represent the "label" you've given players. Examples: F = Fish, D = Donk, C = Chicken, etc
