I never got a chance to make this deck for FTP before the software switch. I was hoping for this to be my first all SVG deck. It was the one I used to test out the FTP Beta client back in March. I didnt even make it all the way thru the first suit of clubs before seeing how bad the scaling would be. So I gave up.

This deck is awesome Fozzy! Does "bad scaling" mean that it doesn't look good really small or is it something else? Cuz lots of people stack or cascade and wouldn't care.

I'd say most people would think the cards are too hard to read, especially if you play small tables.

It is a pretty deck though.

What about Mondo, Andras, and Modeus? Any plans to convert them?

5.4 ported default table size

5.4 ported on smallest table (lores deck)

Once installed, if you later use a different deck, and want to reinstall this one, just go to your Start Menu:

I made the timer myself in inkscape, basically just taking the original timer and cut off the bottom so it wouldn't hit the top of the table in the top seat on 6max tables. Definitely nothing fancy.
I was way off base.

Well, I guess I can say I see some of my influence there, at least.

I made it half in Illustrator, and finished it in Photoshop for Stars. I didn't convert it to the old FTP client. It will be one of my first SVG decks for FTP, if I ever make any SVG decks.

At large table sizes, it definitely is not as crisp as a true SVG deck, but as it scales down, I think it holds it own at the lower resolutions.

This is not my creation. This is not the version from poker wiki. I think this version has a color palate closer to the original stars deck. The Cards3.png I used is buried somewhere in the big Old mods thread. I simply have just moved it into SVG format. This does not include cardbacks. You will need to turn off 4-cards for these to show up right. Includes low resolution as pictured below. Enjoy!

This is the directory where the files go on Windows XP C:\Program Files\Full Tilt Poker\Graphics\NewTable\Common\Cards

I uploaded as a .rar and 7zip file.

Default table size

Smallest table size I could get. This is using the lores deck.

4tabling. Table size is a little bit smaller than the default

OMG, what a difference, thank you. May I ask for a request? Can you either change the deck in the last hand replayer OR make these waffle cards work even if i check 4 color deck?

This is important to me because the Last Hand replayer uses FT cards w/ 2 color deck. I don't care if the Last Hand replayer is Waffle or not, I just need it to be 4 colors! Can you help me?

I'm thinking this should be very easy for me to do. Maybe I can copy some folders so it doesn't matter if i check 4 color deck or not. Would this work? If so, please let me know what folders to copy. Thank you and congrats on an exceptional job on the cards!

Is there any way to make the cards bigger? I play 8 tables and shrink down the tables and it would be nice if the cards were bigger with less space in between the cards.

OK, I think I figured it out and seems to be doing what i want it to do. Basically just copied the 3 club folders to the appropriate 3 green club folders and same thing for the 3 blue diamond folders. Now i can just check 4 color deck or not and doesn't make a difference. Seems to be working perfectly and hope this doesn't cause any crashes.

fozzy, the ported version looks very blurry and the edges are not pretty at all.
Same for the cardbacks. I tested different table sizes.
No offense intended whatsoever, I just feel that it kind of taints your reputation for releasing high quality decks.
An .svg version of the 5.4 deck I found in some other thread looked much much crisper although it wasn't even done extremely well imo.
Is it really that much work to do it in .svg?

In a word yes.

Here is a pic of my first attempt at a mod. My cards get jaggy a bit when I six table on my 1920x1200 res screen. This is also made worse do to the fact, I think, that I just copied the full size cards file into the "lore" directory for the appropriate set.

I would love to here some input on the lore cards from fozzy or quicksilver. What is your solution for producing them?

Another question for fozzy,

I was just checking out your new decks with the installer. I see you opted to just paste raster (bitmaps) files in your svg files instead of producing straight in vector format. Can I ask your reasoning here? I think you lose a lot of quality this way when the cards used in the program. Am I wrong? I realize its probably faster to produce the entire deck Photoshop then place the parts in the svg files. Is that your only reason?

Has anyone broken the Layout.xml down yet? Meaning what sections pertain to what exactly? Just curious before I start editing things I shouldn't

Mostly interested in font sizes

Here is my dodo simple deck. No fancy effects - just high contrast and big numbers. No secondary numbers; for playing holdem only. Very tiny svg files; easily edited.

This is a table width 802 with yellow clubs:

For red-green blind comparison, diamonds are visible in the screen shot below (winner has Q J , the deuce is the 2 ).

And this is a table width 650 with green clubs:

Download includes the dark green felt for classic theme, for contrast with dark violet spades. Download at Dodo Simple - Hi Res

I'll probably do a lo_res version when I get fed up with 650 width tables.

Dealer button used was posted by limpshove!.

Yes. It will be a lot of work to try and recreate these from scratch as SVG, along with the LoRes counterpart. Then once I do, the FTP client will not be able to properly render and scale the 'Scalable Vector Graphics'.

Sounds like you have a 30"? They are going to be blurry at bigger sizes, and somewhat small and fuzzy at smaller than default sizes. If you have a 30" they might look a bit fuzzy even at default table sizes.

In a word, that's why they are free.

In all honesty, we don't have an acceptable solution yet, which is why you don't see any true SVG decks from us yet. I am not going to make any SVG decks, if this is the best the FTP client can do scaling them.

See above. I just chopped and converted my old PNG file, so previous users/customers would have something for now. It probably won't be satisfactory (read: the same as what they are used to) to those with 30" monitors, or those tiling on very small tables, but it is still quite playable IMO, for a freebie.

I am not going to waste my time creating SVG decks at this point. They either need to fix their client so it properly reproduces the SVG, or they need to go back to some form multiple-size PNG decks.
