once again massive thanks goes to Jaylighter for all the time in designing the deck AND not only that but releasing it for FREE! i am definitely one that doesn't mind paying for nice decks at all and would love to ship a nice tip to the good man but the fact that he has done this just shows what kind of person he is.

@ jaylighter , my card backs seem kinda small? fwiw i'm still using default ftp deck.

edit : and when there is an all in or cards are shown, its the ftp small deck even tho my tables are default size.

^was referring to a huge pic i posted (then removed thanks to him), i thought the pic was 500x500px it was more like 50000000x50000000px lol. so ty dr. fozz. evverry thing gets re sized on my 6in screen

you don´t miss something so far. 2+2 admins decided to make the two new subforums. only admins and moderators can open a thread there. seems they want to make the comercial developers/designers paying for an own thread.

Being that Jaylighters cards are the stone nuts it might be better to just retire.

i think he's referring to _dave_'s response when asked if the mod threads would be split between commercial and non-commercial

Second. Having your own thread for your site on here is a good thing for you. Not sure why you guys are so bummed. Call it FTP mods by Tiltbuster and everytime FTP mods is searched it will come up. And you guys have the most stuff to showcase by far and are the most well known so your thread will probably be the largest commercial thread which will draw in extra customers. And you wont have to worry about JayLighter posting this incredible art for free next to your stuff.

i would just like to say that im pretty annoyed at the decision to do this.


i thought everyone was happy with the, "one thread for everything" idea we had going here - it was definitely convienient for the customers/forum users to be able to come to one thread and see all of the new stuff thats available - Even with this implemented though i notice a lot of designers still not posting their new works here.


either way, it was definitely easier but if 2+2 is trying to make money off of the ppl making mods since they are using this forum to distribute then i guess more power to them... although its definitely not easier on us, the user.




one last thing, when threads do start perhaps they should be noted so, in this thread, just as one starts so everyone knows about it? i would vote for this to happen at the very least.

the forum trolls around here are changing their names faster than i do with my underwear...

however, it makes no sense and so far it seems that only mr.quicksilver is happy about it and wants his own thread.

for me and i talked to some others and read their comments, it makes no sense and i´m not going to pay for a sticky thread in a subforum which has a structure like this. any bussiness is living by his customer relationships and the new system seperates the comercial developers/designers from potential new customers. so it´s not even worth a cent. the new structure didn´t improved the usability of the forum for its users in any way.

Oh snap I didnt realize you guys had to pay now. How much? TO have to do it in the sub forum is rediculous. You should get a sticky with your logo in this main forum. Sux to have to pay but you all made alot of money from the free advertising that almost no business in this world gets anymore so it levels out no?

You know one really good solution that I just thought of would be to just start doing it for free and playing more poker instead. Then we could all post together and share work!!!

from what i know noone pays so far for a thread in the commercial part and its not planed atm.

dave mentioned this possibility as the new solution gives them the possibility to analize the traffic and make their calculations.

it makes no sense to advertise in a comercial subforum when it looks like todays solution. what do you think your sticky thread is worth when every thread is sticky? what do you think is the worth for a second support forum for each of us? i included a supportforum in my new site. you already have runing your own support forum. for me it makes no sense to make bussiness on two places. advertising is great but you can advertise in many ways and a static thread in a forum is one of the worst possibilities i can imagine. before doing this i will buy some banners or invest in google ads and stuff.

this thread is great as it is. it produced more than 1 million clicks for 2+2. if they are not able to realize and create benefits out of that...

i only wrote the decision for myself. i would be willing to pay for a solution which fits my needs but the actual solution is far from it.

now that sounds more logical than "lol". i agree! 2+2 will lose viewers with the recent split because there is no overview and structure. and once they start to charge we will have 2 hidden stickies. tn and hem can afford to pay for something useless like that, but all the other small developers wont pay.

btw, imo its very unprofessional by 2+2 that they didnt make a clear statement about this so far.

If you split commercial and free mods, and make mega threads in each forum, then where do the random help me with my mod threads from the main forum go? Into the free sub-forum thread? I won't be posting in that thread, even to answer simple questions, for fear of being labeled a spammer. I try to post as little as possible in this thread now, and if this thread get's split I will post even less. Depending on what they decide to do with the commercial modder's I may not post in either sub-forum.

The sub-forums benefit no one except 2p2. It makes the mods job easier and it gives the red's an opportunity to charge for support threads we never asked for. The stickies/mega-threads come about because the mods get sick of the number of new threads about some topics. I don't want a sticky, I can't afford to pay for a sticky, and if they tried charging for the support threads that they made by compiling the random threads, I would quit posting in the software forum completely (other than my HM responsibilities). The threads are going to be here either way, even if we refused to pay for them. People will ask questions and make new threads about popular software (and mods), because this forum has high volume. The mods will get sick of the random threads about the same topic and will merge them.

The high site traffic (caused by all the free user content) allows them to charge their ridiculous advertising fees for the big boys. The higher their traffic, the more they can charge for those big fancy ads. It shouldn't allow them to start charging for threads and/stickies which had always been free. The free threads and stickies are why everyone comes here. You charge money of advertisers to present their ads to the user base, you do not charge the users.

What's next? A monthly/yearly subscription fee to read and post on 2p2?
