Wow. So promising. I would second the opinion of the previous poster for the addition of (even minimal) yellow and red to the face cards. Perhaps in the trim of the sashes across the chest area. It's likely your intention to keep the deck mono-toned, which is substantial as is, but the masses will likely hound you for some level of color to the face cards. Suggesstion only:

Red = R 248 G 0 B 25
Ylw/Gold = R 255 G 196 B 17

This would make for one incredible deck. Very nice work.

I disagree with the diamond/rank being underneath the card value on the left side, I think having the suit underneath the rank on the left makes this deck unique and original. If he were to remove that the deck would probably look a bit too basic and too much like other decks already made. I think you should certainly keep the diamond(suitmark) underneath the ranks exactly how it is right now.

the idea of adding color to the face cards, yeah - maybe. I guess it would depend on how it looks once you experiment with it, but i REALLY like how it looks right now - its different than other decks and its unique for NOT having color in the royal suits. but maybe experiment around with it, and maybe you can make a secondary version with colored higher suits, but i would def continue with exactly how it looks right now first.

I do my 1st try in desgining cards (and I'm german, too^^), and those are the first results... but there are 2 problems.

1st, I would like to use the black (spade) cards for all colors. I tryed to simply delete the spade logo and replace it with one of the others. Unfortunately, in the FTP Software the colors of the replaced logos are not shown, but its black contour lines are visible. Wtf?

2nd, what do the cards have to require to work with TNFT? When I use them, TNFT does not input the bet amount into the slider field any more. Even replacing to my standard deck (also modded, but working with TNFT) does not fix the problem, if once occured; I then have to restart my pc... wtfh???

TNFT Log file message is:

Code:
05:10:48 : Exception looking for pot tab: Rect in IsRectColored cannot be scraped.
05:10:48 : Exception 2190847117711: Rect in IsRectColored cannot be scraped.
05:10:48 : Failed setting default bet on retry 0

Very nice Job so far, I'm willing to pay for the finished deck - if you do NOT add colors to the pics^^. I'm serious, that makes the cards unique and it simply looks awesome. If the logos on the left are really destracting, try using contour lines only - maybe it makes it more easy to different the left logo from the real value logos.

Greetz, and thx in advance if someone could help me.

EDIT: Btw, this is my finished table mod; thanks to you all for the free stuff and good ideas!

Try creating a .zip or .rar archive. Insert the newtable folder or whatever u want and upload the zip file.

First off I would say that the rank value in the upper left corner of the card is definitely not easy enough to read. It needs to be bigger/bolder so you can more easily identify what card it is. As of now, its kind of thin // hard to see.

Also, the A's on the aces looking as they do, pretty interesting... I'm not sure how cool the deck would be like this, it might get a bit annoying after awhile, but maybe not.

I would also say that perhaps the actual rank display of the card (in the center of the card) should be increased (bigger).

Just my thoughts....

Glad to see more people working on new decks!

You are right in size issues, I got aware of that, too - but before continuing to try anything out an getting tilted over this, I have to get the described problems fixed; at least the first one about the display error.

But the TNFT issue is not less important for me - I am not going to work on a deck I never can use with TNFT, so there was no more motivation to waste my time if I cannot fix it^^.

The modded deck I actually use also does not support TNFT perfectly since TNFT does not detect other streets than the flop, but this is simple to avoid by using several betsize hotheys; however, completely having to pass on TNFT is unacceptable imo.

Is there a tutorial or post somewhere that could teach me how to create decks or someone tell me which program to use? Thanks. Would love to start creating decks and sharing em with folks.

Found in the Table Ninja Thread:

I've done my best to describe exactly where TableNinjaFT looks for white on the cards. I trust that you guys will figure out clever ways to make this all work.

If any of this is unclear or if there is any way I can help feel free to ask.

We define a rectangle where each card is which we scale with the size of the table. Within that rectangle we look for a single white pixel 25% from the left and 25% from the bottom. This general area is show circled in green on the default hi-res King of Hearts below.

Even though we're looking for a single pixel, the boxes we place around the cards probably aren't perfect, so you'd want to have a reasonable area be white.

The complication is that when the table switches to low-res images (around when it is 420 pixels tall (total window size in Vista)) the cards are shifted to the bottom of the box, and don't fill it entirely so there's felt showing at the top. They then don't match up with the hi-res rectangle we relatively scale until you reach the smallest table size.

Thus, for now, you'd need to keep a white area on the low-res images that is non-square, specifically it should include the spot we look at on the hi-res cards, and some more space above that. You should definitely test that TableNinjaFT is detecting the street correctly at a range of table sizes that display lo-res cards before deciding that it works.

I hope this helps, we would definitely be willing to change things around or bit or try and make it easier for you guys if needed. I don't know many of the details of how mods work with FT so just let me know if theres some small change we could make that would make things a lot better for modding.

@ jdennis111: I thank you a ton, but now I'm wondering why there occur no probs with TNFT and my other mod deck since there is no white area at the specified location at all:

Are you sure missing white pixels in those areas can cause the described problem?

@ SuiteJudyBlue67: You can edit the .svg files (scalable vector graphics) ie with InkScape. All FTP graphics files (as well the layout.xml) are placed at ...\Graphics\NewTable\... in your FTP folders. HF!

hmm.. good question, guessing that is old info now.. I'm on a mac, so come with no TNFT experience.. Question had been asked before, so was just forwarding what I thought was the answer. There are others that have more experience, and should be chiming in soon. Maybe check the Table ninja thread in the meantime?? There has been a point of contention with how TN read the cards. Seems maybe Tarath and TN crew are starting to come up with a fix, and you are stumbling in to the bugs.. just a guess, sorry no help.

They have been working on more forgiving methods of cards/street detection to make TNFT compatible with more decks. I cant give any specifics, as TNFT compatibility is of no concern to me currently.
