I can't imagine the sites will be able to stop this, and there's no way they will allow it. I really hope this doesn't lead to a competition of purchasing data mining results.

Edit: 100k hands is $25
If we have opted out, are there going to be HHs sold with us in them? Not cool (besides the fact of blatantly violating ToCs).

Disclaimer:

Mining and buying mined hands aren't against the TOC of my site, so don't even start. Before I bought the hands I searched 2p2 to see if anyone else had from PTR and didn't see any legitimate reviews so I figured this might be useful to future buyers. I've also never bought mined hands before, so I don't have anything to compare it against.

I purchased 2 million hands, 1 million at NL50 and 1 million at NL100. Price basically identical to Hand HQ.

PTR advertises that a download link will be sent immediately to your email after purchase. It took 30 minutes (slight annoyance).

I imported the hands into a new database and discovered I was shorted a little over 30,000 hands (no errors, no duplicates). Not a huge deal and maybe its industry standard to round up, but I got 98.5% of what I paid for. I sent an email to PTR immediately, and 24 hours later have not heard back. An additional slight annoyance...

I filtered the database to see just how old the hands were. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were all less than a month old. Pleased...

Website interface: A little busy, but easy enough to use. It did have a couple of bugs though:

When you filter what hands you want there are ~5 drop down menus -- you complete the top menu before the next highest one becomes available. It hung up on me the first time where I filled out the top two drop-down menus, but the 3rd remained blank. I refreshed the page, started over, and it worked.

When you go to buy the hands and have not already registered, it has a field for new users to fill out. It always said my email was an invalid format or previously registered. After refreshing/retrying a number of times, I registered a free account first, then logged in and was able to complete the order without issue.

Cliffs:

purchasing interface: 4/10
Time to deliver: 7/10 (30min /= immediate)
download speed: 9/10 (150kb/s)
quantity of hands: 8/10 (shorted 1.5%)
quality of hands: 10/10 (no errors, all newer than 1 month)
customer support: 0/10 (no response after 24 hours)

Overall: 6.5/10

^ update:

Received an email today with a link for 60,000 hands (30,000 at each limit). The hands are for FTP, which isn't where I play, but I give them credit for trying to make it right. (And I'm guessing support is slower over the weekend). Additionally, it looks like the 30 minute delay is not bad (HandHQ says to wait up to 1 hour/million hands for files to be processed/compressed).

New Overall: 8/10

^new update (would be nice if I could edit)

Received another email with 60,000 more hands (30,000 from each limit) for the site I originally ordered the 2mil from. So a little rocky start, but they more than made it right and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again
