Jerky mouse and high cpu usage

Hi guys, i am having a bit of trouble with my computer.

When i get cpu spikes, my mouse becomes jerky and the typing is sometimes very slow, and then appears on the screeen

Is there any way of getting rid of this? It is almost as annoying as a disconnection when u have the nuts!

I find it hard to believe that windows seems to think that anything is more important than the position of the cursor, or what is being typed!

yep, playing party, but it also happens on other apps as well, and its really annoying!

Had the same problem - I uninstalled all my antivirus and firewall software*. Computer runs sooo much faster now.

*probably not a great idea

My viruses auto-update daily and someone has TYed my BR. But mouse works fine!

Party is known to eat up lots of CPU lately. But if it also happens on other apps I can't help you out, sorry.

good evening all,I found out what was happening with my jerky mouse.

it turns out that all I had to do, was to change the USB port, which had the remote control in it.

Problem solved, and I'm very happy, but a bit annoyed it took me this long to figure it out.

Yea, just lately my computer has been doing the same on Party Poker. It was fine for so long, then all of a sudden maybe about a week ago the huge lag and eating of computer resources began again.

Yep, i had the puter slow down for months, tried everything. Whenever computer cpu was up, or disk was used, the mouse would lag horribly.

Changed the usb port for my (top of the line) logitech mouse, zero problem IMMEDIATELY!

Freaked the **** out of me that i couldnt find anything about it on the net, nor did logiteck suggest it

Strangely enough I've had something similar to this happen twice before. One time my on-board net card and rear USB block decided to pack in and that caused similar stuff to what omaha was reporting (mouse freezes every few seconds, disk access freezes every few seconds, etc), and just recently my front USB MB connector vibrated itself loose and that also caused similar problems.

FWIW, this is the reason I am always telling people to build themselves.

Not because it is cheaper (it may or may not be) - but because should something weird happen you already have the confidence to take it apart & re-assemble it, finding the problem along the way.

i'm having major problems with party atm since the update i think. when sat at four tables with HM running the mouse stutters, the bets get delayed before being typed in the box and the buttons become unresponsive for a few seconds/ have a dealy from when i clicked on them til when they act. No other apps have any problems and i use an old school mouse, not a usb one. Any ideas!?
