If disabling stars update how to know when there is an update?

I'm new to modding, and when modding obviously the pokerstarsupdate.exe must be turned off...how to know when to check then? is there a website page on stars that tells you?

If you feel you need to update your client to be sure you got the latest, just copy the Gx, Themes and Xthemes folders to your desktop and update stars, them put then back into the folder.

right im still wondering if they have like a pokerstars update announcement page?

I update every 2-3 weeks normally. Now that Badugi is due out, I am updating every other day or so. My new mod installers, mean I never have to copy my Gx folders. I simply reinstall my chips and cards from my Start Menu Shortcuts.

- The ONLY folder you need to copy so you can get your mods back after an update is: C:\Program Files\PokerStars\Gx\chips&deck. That is it.

- Do NOT copy the Themes folder. That is the default Stars themes, and it needs to update, on rare occasions, like when they added the Black Theme.

- The Stars updates do NOT update your XThemes folder, ever, in any way. Which is why I want them to add an XCards Menu/Folder, so we can install countless card mods to choose from, and the Stars updates wouldnt overwrite your custom cards, only the ones in the Gx folder.
