Anyways, if you get this fully running I pay you $$$!
Any chance you can add a function that will "time ban" tables that you left (for example 1 hour) before the table opener will open them again?
Sure I can do something like this... in fact i think its a really good idea... although in many situations the current system would accomplish the same thing because most of the time you leave a table because it has too few weak players, which is reflected in the statistics that you will already be filtering on.
As for writing in java.... sure portability would be great, but only for the actual code. API calls dont port well, and pretty much all of the code is built aroudn a series of Windows API calls. Also, it is much easier to interface with the API using a language that is part of the .net architecture. To do this with Java would be possible, but at best it would be a major pain. And in the end, java code would be significantly slower.
The concept that C++ code is not portable is somewhat of a myth. The fully compiled code cannot run on multiple systems, but MOST code can be recompiled to run on a different OS. Unfortuantely something as complex as this program relies on calling functions which are a part of the operating system and not something that you can simply add support for by a library file, etc.
