If you try and change the original 'top.dat' it will not open and an error box appreas with the number 1 on it?

You helped me realize that I needed to "mod" the top.dat file and change "Options" to top view on all tables. Now it works. Thanks.

Yeah that's what you'll get when the table image is corrupted or isn't there.

You're saving the image to your desktop, renaming it as top.dat and then replacing the stock file in the data folder, and it still isn't working?

Is this your first time attempting a table mod, or have you had success before and are having trouble for the first time?

For some reason, when I change the jpeg file to a .dat file, its properties still has it down as a .jpeg?

im pretty sure i have windows set to show all file extensions. How would I be able to check?

You can try mine. It's pretty simple. Based on a party poker layout I got from the PokerAce website.

There's one included in that pack for Classic View. It needs to be adjusted but that should be easy enough.

All you gotta do is import the 6 max layout onto a 9 max grid and reposition the stats.

At least one person sounded interested in this mod I made a while back for making AP look like Full Tilt, so I'm gonna post a .zip and then some .jpg files for varied background combos.

You can switch from Fozzy's 5.4 deck to the FTP stock deck on standard table size. All resized tables use the 5.4 deck.

I will post the tables with plain black background as well as a few textured backgrounds.

I converted the coin chips from the FTP thread for AP. There is a subfolder included in the Absolute Poker\data\gameimage\pk folder that contains the Full Tilt stock chips as well. Whoever created the coin chips, they are awesome.

Seeing as there is a bit of me in this package: I download the ZIP from Dilz, and loaded it into an installer, like my FTP/Stars installers.

Download to your PC, double click, follow prompts. It will install with out you having to manually copy/paste/overwrite.

*Edit - Dilz - have you tried to make the deck file Oversized for Ap like I do at FTP/Stars? Just wondering if it's possible to make the cards bigger and reduce the space shown between them.. If I actually played there - I would have tried it by now.

Rename Classic View tables as qt6.dat, qt9.dat, etc. Rename RaceTrack tables as bg6.dat, bg9.dat, etc.

If you don't know what I'm talking about please read through this thread carefully. It's been explained many times. I didn't make a Full Tilt table for Top View. I didn't like the way it came out resized.

I have tried it, but I don't think it works out like at Stars. It seems like AP has a window where the cards show up, and if you make them bigger than that window they just end up very messed up.

That's really cool of you to put it in an installer. I'm sure it will be appreciated, assuming there are people still left on 2+2 who are interested in AP mods.

Just realized that all of my AP tables I made got deleted from Photobucket when I was deleting old FTP images.

Here are all of them (I think?) that I made way back when. Sorry I deleted em from the op's of mine in this thread.

I've been trying to figure out how to use these mods for a while now, I must be doing something wrong.

I am using the "top" view, so I selected the table mod, saved it as top.dat (kept it as a jpg), and overwrote that file in the Absolute/data folder.

I'm still seeing the default table when I open Absolute. What am I doing wrong?

Pretty sure you dont have windows set to show file extensions. What you effectively did was rename a JPEG file from <top.jpg> to <top.dat.jpg> because you arent seeing the known file extensions.

You need to let windows display all file extensions.

I can get every table mod to work except for classic view. All bg, qt, and top files were replaced, but classic view is still showing up as the default nastiness. What gives?

I really don't know. If you saved one of these jpegs to your desktop, renamed it to bg6.dat and bg9.dat and pasted them into the data folder it should have worked, assuming you have file extensions showing. Did Windows ask you if you wanted to overwrite the original?

It's just not possible for the stock table to show up in classic view if you replaced it properly. If it's still there you must have missed something.
