How profitable are the games for Omaha/8? How profitable are the games for Omaha/8?

Hey ya'll,

So I started my poker career playing NLHE up to 10/20, with excellent game selection, and now playing low stakes plo (I see fish regularly playing at the highest stakes at my site which is 5/10), and don't know hardly anything about playing O8 but they have Pot-Limit at my site and I wonder how profitable the games are?

I see some players who suck at OmahaHi playing O8 but I wonder if people even have this game in general less figured out, and what is the edge in this game?

Would appreciate comments from winning regs mostly. Thank you!

It probably still is the most profitable game if you know what you're doing, BUT you better know how to play the game well.

I don't know what I'm doing cuz I never learned, haha!

How would you rate it compared to NLHE and PLO like rating them on a 1-10?

There is so much info/training on those games that the competition can be fierce, even at the .10/.25 level (online, obv). Not as much info out there on PLO8, the games can be profitable even at 1-2 for someone who puts a modest amount of effort into it.

The problem is that there isn't a lot of PLO8/NLO8 games available. Depends obv how low stakes do you want to go.

However, there are tons of great PLO games out there. It doesn't seem to matter that there are many good books/videos about that game as many people just don't study the game.

The players that kill the sng's specialize in ICM, i suppose the mtt are similar. Starting hands are closer preflop in O/8 than most games. So you rarely dominate the opponent prefop and have to consider that in sng/mtt. In cash games, you should focus on the play of the regs, and adjust as correctly as you can while the fish dump stacks of cash with one dimensional holdings. I enjoy fixed limit the most, but games are even scarcer and you have to be familiar with the good regs, they are tough.

I miss the Bovada days when there would be 2-3 30/60 9 handed games a night.
