I know this is shaq's well so he can answer himself ... but IMO there are *very* few players who I would consider "good" who have stats like 17/3 or 16/3 or 14/2. These players may be small winners, but they are quite easy to play against. 18/6 is somewhat different.

I'm curious about the transition from casual to pro player.

What is your estimate in the difference of hours you put in per session? Per month?

Did you grind out your whole roll, bink a tourney, or deposit?

Social life; is it better or worse since going pro?

How has PLO been working out for you? I've played PLO since about 2004, and the game is constantly evolving. It was easy to be an ABC player online back then, but that just doesn't fly anymore. Do you see yourself transitioning to more PLO in the future?

Are there players you don't want to see sitting down at your HU table?

Bump.

Threads older than February 1 are to be automatically archived next month in preparation for an upgrade. I'm bumping all 2+2 threads cited in our two stickies that are not already archived so that they will not be lost to us.

This includes all the wells.

Did you ever play on PokerStars? Recognize me?

I'm playing live plo8 or big O tourneys round my parts every now and then.

No stars, mostly the app based games but action is hit or miss. Where are you playing live plo8 if you dont mind me asking? I mostly hate live PLO8, due to nits running it twice/3 times making all these messy side pots getting 1/8th and other nonsense LOL

Have you ever played BigO?

Could you explain some of the attraction of BigO as it mystifies me?

Where is the best action online for BigO?

Best wishes,

Al

If someone wants to learn PLO8 to beat up to 1/2, 2/4, what are the best resources these days?

Amok lives in Norway or Iceland I think, so to start you’re going to need better pigeons. Pro tip: watch out for sea eagles.

It made me giggle a bit, too. I mean jesus christ the games are so easy right now. People limp and have no idea what to do post-flop.

I'm still playing online. After Black Friday I was forced to get a "real job". Honestly the $35000 a year I was making online before Black Friday wasn't crap anyway but I always had million dollar dreams....lol

Now I'm an Engineer and getting to play online just for fun. What's Ironic is now that I play for fun I make more than the $35K a year I did before Black Friday. Maybe the games are just softer.

Crazy I've been making money playing poker for almost 20 years and the freedom did allow me to get an education while having a young son. Thankful for that. Hope all the other old time Regs are doing well. Most of yall Kicked my butt for years including SHAQ lol

I know you asked SHAQ but I will give my two cents and i hope it helps.…

Honestly the best resource to learn to beat $1/2 and $2/4 is .05/.10. I think most all crushers will tell you that they started playing small and learned what worked and what didn't and moved up by taking shots. I know people want the magic wand that will make them a crusher but the truth is smart people will play and analyze situations (most of the time in their head) to determine if they made the correct play or not. Then when those situations arise again (where they made a mistake) they will have the awareness to recognize it and adjust to make the correct play.

Also understand the $2/4 games are MUCH harder than the $1/2 games even though the stakes seem close (At least that's my experience).
