At this point I believe there were 18 left, 12 cash, I was 8th or 9th stack. Not a lot of info on villain, but he was a bottom 4 stack with 10bbs.

A5 isn't a fantastic low, but this hand (AK56ds) performs fairly well heads up from what I can tell. Is this a really marginal/bad spot, or did I miss an opportunity to try to isolate villain who should be shoving a fairly wide range w 10bbs? I wouldn't consider it with more players behind me, but only had BB behind with about the same sized stack as villain.

Sorry if this is not the right format for the hh, and if this is a stupid question - I'm trying to learn more about shortstacked/turbo play.

I'd getin because it wins a lot of chips (this is probably obvious?), but I tend to be mostly f ICM -school.

Yeah, I'm interested in the tournament meta game component as much as his probable hand range/equities. In a turbo when you're under constant pressure from the blinds, is this the type of spot where you take the risk even if your equity is marginal (or slightly negative?), because it's likely as good as any opportunity you're going to get to win a big hand before you get hit by the blinds again.

I'm second guessing my fold on this one because I think you reaaally have to identify and take those sorts of opportunities to be successful in turbo MTTs

Well, I wouldn't ever take a slightly negative flip. I don't think with antes this is a marginal spot chip-wise though, but a pretty lucrative one. Of course, I have no idea how the game in question plays (maybe he shoves only AA?) as you don't even mention the buy-in.

Thanks! Sorry, I'm new - this is a $30 buy-in on ACR.

That's what I thought. This was just a missed +EV opportunity that I talked myself out of.
