6 handed on ACR 0.02 / 0.05

Hero has 8QA3

CO posts, UTG limps.

I pot to 0.27. Folds to SB who pots to 0.91 w/ 1.36 behind

Note on SB "Aggro w/ wrap on flush board". If I remember the hand correctly he got aggressive with a medium-strength low and a wrap on a monotone flop. I wasn't in the hand, just observed it.

Folds to me and I call.

1.97 in the pot
Flop:
2 K A

SB jams 1.36

Hero?

Is pre ok?

Probably better to only call preflop and play position.

Once you've called the 3bet you can't fold the flop. You could be in really bad shape, but mostly you're flipping, and getting better than 2 to 1 means it's gonna be good to call, and there's even a chance you have the best hand right now.

Top pair, BD NFD, **** low draw, SPR <1, HU pot, guy goes all in = Call.

If you're waiting for better flops than this in this type of situation you shouldn't call the 3bet, which was an option by the way (folding pre to the 3bet) and not terrible.

As played obvious getin on the flop.

I think calling pre is a mistake though, at least if villain has AAxx most of the time. There are very few flops you can correctly fold with this hand, so it's not far from pf-allin when you'd need like 45% equity (rake taken into account).

Even concerning the rake, you need only 30,5% equity on the flop to get it in. I think you can think of it like this: he needs two pair or better to have my high beat and then my low draw is bad only if his two remaining cards happen to be between 3-7, non-paired. So I think the probability of you being absolutely crushed here is very low.

Even against his very top hands you have way more equity that you need:

Even if villain tables aa for top set without seeing the other 2 cards you are priced to call it
