PLO8 Tournament (Short Handed) PLO8 Tournament (Short Handed)

I have been learning to play PLO8. I am currently reading Scoop. But that really only applies to live cash games.

I jumped into a tournament and was doing ok but found it very difficult once it became short handed. 4 players and less. I ended up busting out in 2nd, so not bad, but I was completely lost the whole time. Especially heads up.

For those of you who play tournaments in PLO8, how do you adjust for short handed play? I’m assuming you open up your range some. But how much?

What are some resources out there that deals with tournaments?

Any advice would be great as I am in need of it.

The silence isn’t reassuring. Guessing the info is scarce....

Basically there is not much information available regarding o8 compared to Holdem.

Your questions are not specific enough. That is why you do not get replies besides that the forum is quite dead

It would probably be better to post a couple of hands from when it was shorthanded for feedback. Even if its just reviewing your pre-flop decisions.

It isn't practical to suggest adjustments for someone who 1) may not be familiar with basic plo8 icm principles 2) does not seem familiar with plo8 shorthanded play in general 3) is new to plo8 the game, so we can't assume how knowledgeable they are in various spots and well-known theory.

Tournament theory is more complicated than cash games as a rule, and even more so at final tables.

once you get short handed, you need to push small edges and good draws

pre-flop
As2Kx, AAxx, KKxx, Aslowlowhigh,

after flop
2 pair, 2 to a flush, nut low draw

-become more 'aggressive'
-the things that would get you eliminated in early full table play
-keep potting and/or raising willing to go all in on this hand

-start potting button with marginal hands
