PLO8 SNG Hand check raise? PLO8 SNG Hand check raise?

Hey all, I have PLO8 sng hand for review. I misclicked the preflop limp and would normally open for a raise. However, I would appreciate thoughts on the flop and turn. Villain seems solid, nothing too out of line so far. Sorry if I posted the hand the wrong way, couldn't get any hand converter to work. Ive been working on identifying ranges and simulating equities on propoker tools and thought this hand may provide some good practice.

I feel like villain's raising range contains A$w, AA, A$w$B type hands. With the flop check I thought maybe we could eliminate AA hands and a lot of premium A2 hands (A2KQ, A24K, A2KK etc.). After the check I think we can narrow down the range to counterfeited A3 hands, A4$B etc. Im tempted to check raise this spot. Anyone have any thoughts? If you like a check raise is there any discussion on sizing or is it a shove?

Again, I'm trying to work on range identification so if anyone has any insight or comments on my approach please let me know.

Thanks

Potting seems ok to me.

I think you better fold in this Spot. If you miss, you loose the whole pot, an A can help your opponent too and a K also doesn't helps you, you rarely win the half pot and often you loose. Only chance you can win the low pot ist to get a low card, than you will only win half the pot. You also have no counterfeit protector. it is really the worst case szenario to checkraise and you better never bluffcheckraise in PLO8 (even if you start playing this variant). At the low stakes i think the people are also more straightforward, think he can also got trips there with a low draw open or straightdraws, flushdraws.

It is good that you think about his ranges, but to decide with this is a bit to hard (false) at the beginning. i also don't know what your syntax mean

Where do you learned your basics about PLO8?

I really don't like limping this hand pre. A2K9 is like the ultimate example of a push hand. You have no backup for the A2 and the AK is MUCH stronger HU than multiway.

Thanks for the replies.

Amok: thanks, I ended up potting and taking down the pot. Just not sure if it was smart compared to his range or if I was lucky to get a fold.

KeinPlan: thanks for the input. I really haven’t found a ton of material on PLO8 mtt/sng strategy so I’ve been watching videos wherever I can find them and playing around in propokertools.

Roll’dUpTrips: The limp was a misclick

Thanks

In general I agree, check raise bluffing can be tough in PLO8. However, I feel like his range is much more defined compared to ours. I don't think he has an 8 unless its also with A2. I doubt he checks the flop with A28x in position as preflop raiser. Its just such a dry flop for villain to be checking. The only pair he doesn't bet on flop is counterfeited A3. I dont think he can call the turn raise with A3 unless its something like A3QJ (which probably keeps the lead and bets on the flop anyway).

Is this a viable thought process for PLO8, or is it dangerous trying to define this narrow of a range?

Thanks
