9 handed live game, 5/5

Hero(700) utg AcAsKhQd, should I raise? Limp?

The table is loose passive with a few exceptions.

I'd fold, especially in a loose passive game where pots will be multi-way and blank aces won't have much bluffing value.

you don't find it to be worth limping in a loose passive game to see if you can hit a monster flop multiway?

fwiw i would have said limp UTG, never raise, and never fold. but i'd also add just "do what amok says"

Do you limp with one suit?

A few things that matter

- is the game time raked or raked by the pot? If latter I'd just be very nitty from the first 5 positions or so
- do villains make huge mistakes? If yes, trying to see more flops is certainly something to aim for

I don't think it's good to have both limps and raises from early position. I can easily get behind limping whole VPIP-range though. With one suit this hand is quite a lot stronger. AAKQr doesn't hit that many gin flops.

- Time raked
- some vilains make huge mistakes, but sometimes the game is tougher
- we almost never play PLO8, mostly big O and Courchevel. Would you apply the same strategy in those games and never raise utg?

I probably wouldn't (I'd raise my entire VPIP-range), but I think it is ok.

An easy implied odds (opponent stacks???) question but this would be a trivial limp/setmine/fold situation.

Just like playing 22 in NLHE except no fear of set over set.

If you had said loose-aggro game it is an easy muck.

Min buy in is 500, max buy in 1500 but people don't rebuy until they have no chip left, so there's often shorter stacks.
