So it's a split pot game, PLO with two boards?

I think the opposite is correct - strong hands go up in value compared to normal PLO.

limit omaha, high only. with 2 boards. split pot between the 2 boards

intuitively i thought the same as u (strong hands going up in value), but from playing 100 hands of it i'm finding that not to be the case.

for example, AKQT double suited is a fantastic hand. but for double board i'd almost rather have AK67 double suited. atleast it feels similar in value the two boards are usually so different (which intuitively makes sense, since once a board is out, those cards are blocked...etc) that it seems like the 2nd hand has a better scoop potential.

i dont have anything to back this up, aside from my tiny sample size. but i went from aggressively playing my traditionally good omaha high hands to being passive pf and waiting to see wht the board texture looked like for my 'premium' hands

I am very familiair with this game both pl and limit. Pushing pre-flop equity is very important. Suited aces go up in value since 2 boards increases the number of flush draws that hit. You need to constantly be aware of backdoor draws and push hands with the potential to scoop both boards.

I don't know that I would really prefer ak76 to akqt but you are right that they are close in value. Mostly because the value of 2p hands is lower with the extra board, having the 76 will let you contest more hands even though you will often have lower equity. Akqt is a very stable hand and very easy to play postflop.

It's the same as saying you shouldn't raise KK pre-flop in the two card game, because you don't know if there is an ace on the flop.

You should always be willing to push your pre-flop equity in every game. Don't let the variance fool you.

Btw, mods might want to move this to a non o8 forum

i find in this game, (atleast in my game), the players are so damn loose pre. willing to call a WIDE range. which makes me less inclined to try to push these small edges when i know i'm getting called by 3/4 guys. perhaps its the game i play, and adj i made. and perhaps this is just higher variance.

if my raise was going to limit the field, then i'd be more inclined to do so. but i find if guys are calling 1 they are calling 2. as i talk it out with u guys i'm thinking i've just made a game-specfic adjustment

i still haven't found anything on strategy for this game anywhere. i took some of the aforementioned advice and had better results with more standard pf aggression. anyhoo, this is a great game with tons of action and really enjoy playing it and trying to learn more

This game is the best game ever. Making people fold equity and being able to take free cards is super important imo.

Is there really a game where you guys play 80 different poker games?

it is an insane/fun game. play a 200/400 home game that kicks up to300/600 and they wanted to add it for the first time during 300/600...i ws telling everyone that is a BAD idea (should prob kick it DOWN for this game...lol). the mixed game where i play this is 50-100 or 75-150

Ur free card comment i get. i think position maybe more important in this game than even the draw games.... but what do you mean by 'making people fold' equity. i feel like there is little-to-none, but perhaps that's more an indication of my game...lol

i find this game to kinda be more baduecy/badacey like in that you are getting to showdown sooooo often. so being nutted or very strong on one side is the name of the game, and then hoping u are marginal or strong enough for the scoop on the other board.

easily to get lulled when u see much marginal hands win one side, and i think that drives the action in this game

They meant it was an 80/160 limit mixed game.
