I was playing hi/lo short handed (4 people).

Starting stacks: button $1000, SB $835, BB $1200, Hero $1400

We were playing 5/5/10 and I was in the straddle. All limp to me and I look down at 2c 3c 5c Jc and check my option.

With $40 in pot, flop comes 2h 3h 3d. Checks to me and I bet $25 and get 2 callers in SB and BB.

With $115 in pot, turn is a Jh. Check to me again and after seeing a safe non-low card, I bet $100 for protection against A4 and to get value from flushes or worse 3s and I get 2 calls.

With $415 in the pot the river comes a 5s. SB checks and BB bets $200. I make the easy call but then the SB rips in his entire stack of $700. I have $335 invested in this pot so far but I have no low. I am only getting scooped by 5h5d and JdJs. I can't get away from it and I call and SB folds. He turns over A455 and I lose.

My question is did I play this hand incorrectly? Is this just a cooler? Should I be sizing up on that flop bet or turn? When you flop the nuts you typically want action. Should I be able to fold that river for $500 more? I know that I'm either getting scooped or chopping with that $700 jam but I only need to call another 500 to chop the BBs $335. Thanks for any and all feedback.

I like how you played it, don't think we can fold river as played - we would need a really strong read on opponent.

Just going to point out that how much you have "invested" in the pot has nothing to do with what to do NOW. It's a very bad (but fairly common) way to think about poker.

Huge cooler and sick river spot but it sounds like the sb played it well. As Monikrazy says, we need a very strong read to be folding on the river here, even for 1/2 the pot.

I don't think you made a mistake.

Given your blockers he’s probably going to show up with A4 + flush way more often than overfulls

how often will someone show nut/2nd nut in 4 handed game?

I would have played same.

How much looser are you for opening range with 4 handed?

Problem is now your high is only 3rd nut, and for only half the pot.

Under full houses are some of the biggest money losers in Omaha...you really need to be aware of your table position and opponents to play them well.

Still really difficult to fold here...you would need some type of read on a regular to do so, IMHO.
