@ Streity I get what you were trying to do but comparing the public perception of Tiger Woods to the perception of Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicholas is a bit ridiculous. The fact is we are living in a different world now compared to when those guys played. When those guys were playing there was no info on their personal lives being put out into the public like there is about every sports star in todays world. For all we know Arnold Palmer could have been a racist drunk who cheated on his wife just as much as Tiger when he played. Comparing him to Phil would have made more sense although admiring pro athletes for anything other than what they do on the field, court etc. is a mistake imo. The fact is that most top athletes have to be completely obsessed with the sport they participate in to get to the top which leads to many of them to being unbalanced individuals away from the game.

Also in North America everyone still loves Tiger. The ratings for golf are terrible when he does not play.

I disagree with this. He is up 43k with rb this year from sngs with over 3 months left in the year and just a 10$ avg buy in. That is quite impressive in my book. He likely has more sng winnings this year than anyone else on Stars with a similar avg buy in.

biood, I don't wanna bash you or put the blame on you, but the comment towards buzz is pretty insulting. You might not see it as this or you might not have meant that way, but the interpretation for a native speaker (buzz, omahaha, juicy, streity etc.) is very clear.

Buzz might have overreacted, but he apoligized for it. You only get defensive when people point to your mistake, that's why you come off very young and immature.

Actually J, Tiger Woods' behaviour off the course was only part of what I was referring to. He often swore, spat and threw clubs etc none of which could be said for the people I have mentioned. The parallel definitely stands and is certainly not ridiculous!

Scandals involving famous people have been going on for centuries. Tiger Woods would have been exposed 40 years ago. I am therefore pretty confident that Jack Nicholas and Arnold Palmer aren't closet womanising racists. I could quite happily point to a lot of political references both here and in the U.S from their era but it would be lost on many.

I certainly agree with you that to be successful at an elite level you have to be driven and obsessed. Whether that leads directly to certain forms of behaviour is questionable as there are plenty of highly successful people who don't succumb.

The thing is I recognise the traits pretty well because I too used to be young immature and a complete douche as well. I am pretty sure it's a maturity thing rather than anything else. I actually guessed he was about 22.

I actually don't think anyone was questioning this. It was more the bragging, the demanding of respect and the insulting nonsense that came with it. He seems to confuse our dislike for his attitude with the fact we don't respect his genius/mad skills and $$$. They are completely separate issues.

I for one respect his achievements recently. But note respect is never demanded it is conferred. I don't need him telling me when I can see Sharkscope leaderboards and judge for myself whenever I play these (infrequently these days).

You see, yourself and Bokkie and Bob have achieved exceptional results at hypers without acting like a douche. I look up to and respect people like that, who can play poker professionally, achieve remarkable things and still conduct themselves properly. Respect at poker and respect as a person.

The fact he has been successful recently does not excuse certain forms of behaviour. I think you may be excusing his behaviour because you respect his achievement/skills. IMO there isn't an excuse.

I agree some of his comments/jokes towards Buzz and plaaynde certainly could be viewed as douchey and Im not excusing that behavior but I understand it much more coming from Biood who is still a young guy compared to lets say quantum who is probably in his 40s and still acts like a child.

Here's a suggestion, for you and everyone else: if you ever see that we have deleted or edited your post(s), or anything else that you don't like or have a question about, pm the mods (or if it is simply an offensive post, report the post with an explanation). Give us the benefit of the doubt in the first instance that we didn't do it to be a jerk, and don't run to immediately post something that one might take or view as insulting or nasty without asking us privately first what's up, even if you didn't intend it that way. I can't think of a reason why we wouldn't do our best to give you a full and fair explanation. 2+2 has rules about where things should and should not get posted, such as coaching stuff. We're obligated to abide by those rules. If you think we made a mistake, just ask. I made a mistake once before, and now I have 3 kids to show for it.

You are right in that he has 38k profit in 75k games pre rb lifetime on stars. The stats I gave were for 2014 with 43% rb which is roughly what you get for reaching 200k vpps.

For the record I was not disagreeing with the rest of the post. I just thought the part about his results was a bit unjust.

@Quantum If you think 30k downswings are not possible playing 60 and 100 hypers just go sharkscope any of the Holdem players who play those stakes. Pick anyone from the count leaderboard for 36-100 hypers and you will see massive swings. Of course a lot of those swings are mitigated by high RB but still If we are considering our poker roll and life roll to be one in the same playing just 60s and 100s with anything less than 40k or 500 x 80$ avg buy ins you are really putting yourself at risk for some stressful situations if you are not prepared to move down quickly when things go bad.

i dont think it has to be reported tho. the whole thing was a fly ( atleast for me ) but thread transformed it into an elephant if u know what i mean

@ JUICY : I agree that for holdem hypers 500 buy-ins are solid, but atm O8 hypers are softer so I think you can easily be a litle more aggressive with like 300 buy-ins for them. these holdem hyper players mostly have -EV roi right ? like -1% but still make like 1-2% post rakeback cause they are SNE and get like 70%

some of the top holdem players make money pre rakeback but not alot, only a handfull of players.

but yeah i agree with biood, you have a much bigger edge at these games and the money ud make in rakeback would be worth it, and what about the upswings? theres just an equal chance ud spin up a big roll too.

we dont realy know if they make money pre RB.. as juicy said, variance is big and we dont know their EV... even if they are all -1% EV roi, they could be up after big amount of games.

i know players like Awice did, then theres alot of satty players who are up, but yeah they make most there cash from SNE x3 or what ever which must be worth about 400k?
