Love it or hate it, the thread " Let's Talk About Regs: Stars/Full Tilt" is getting almost as much action as all the other current threads put together.

"Let's Talk About Regs: Stars/Full Tilt" has more "views" than both of the permanent stickies combined.

I wonder if "Let's Talk About Regs: Stars/Full Tilt" is taking attention away from other threads or bringing more viewers into the forum so that there's more attention to the other threads.

Hmm. Interesting. Wonder where it will lead us.

How many of those views are since the thread reopened?

I don't know and there's no way of which I know to find out. I would have to have recorded those numbers before I re-opened the thread and I didn't do that.

I dont think the numbers are exclusive ( a lot of people who read and post there post in the rest of the forum), I think it should stay and get normally moderated (if someone crosses the line, just act accordingly) , in SSPLO forums they have these threads for long time and dont seem to have problems with it

Agreed.

I think the majority of posters on here are mature and responsible enough to handle the thread accordingly. If certain posters cannot respect the rules, then I would hope that they would suffer the consequences and not the thread. If you don't like the thread, then don't read it - simple enough in my opinion. If there is an inappropriate post, then the mods can delete it.

I, for one, am very interested in hearing what people have to say about other players. I still make my own conclusions at the table - as I really think that the good players adjust their games based on the current table dynamics. I keep hoping that someone is going to say that I am a weak, tight calling station nit or some kind of fish. I would like the publicity in that regard.

I probably look at the "regulars" thread more often than the other threads now, but it has definitely spiked my interest in terms of being more involved on this forum. Maybe it's a coincidence, but I doubt it.

I like to think the forum is a lil more mature acting than any of the others. Yet I'm still torn about the thread (mainly cuz my fishyfishiness could be revealed ). But I am curious at the general discussion involved. .

BTW. Been in there 4 times today just browsing it. Hello record views.

Finally, something to take down the O8 FFL thread. Is it 2+2 sweeps week yet?

Hi Buzz,

Are threads of that nature allowed in the other forums?

I post frequently in the STT forum and anything that isnt strictly hand by hand strategy gets insta-closed by the mods there.

I like the fact that we have more open ended topics here in the O8 forum - it feels more like a community where people can express their views on a variety of related topics rather than simply posting hands.

Mind you the Regs thread is a bit of a beast....

Hi Bob. I don't know.

I didn't even know what STT stood for, or who the mods were for that forum before I just checked it now. And the only reason I checked it is because you mentioned it. I don't think I've ever cracked a thread in that forum. Probably never will.

Thanks. That's good to hear. I'm glad we're doing something right.

It's not bothering me. I think it's great that posters are enjoying themselves.

It seems to be forum by forum on allowing this sort of thing. Enough people asked for it that it seemed silly of us to stop it, PROVIDED that it didn't degenerate into a catfight. Or fishfight, whatever.

But since we reopened it people seem to be posting in a mature and intelligent manner and it hasn't devolved at all like we feared. That's a credit to our regs.

We still intend to keep a tight leash on it, though. Maybe that we've been so clear about that has helped. It is inevitable, I suppose, that some newb that doesn't know that context or background will come piss in the Cheerios. We'll deal with that as it comes.
