Post here re: information related to O8 cash games during WSOP both at the Rio and elsewhere.

First question, I've played it in the past but can't remember, does the 20-40 O8 WSOP cash game include a kill or half-kill and is it time raked (if so, what is the rake?)?

I don't think any games at WSOP have time charge. The 20/40 certainly did not when I played a few years ago. Probably was half kill but I don't remember for sure.

50-100+ is time raked for Stud8. Always assumed same was true for OE and O8.

How much is the time charge?

I honestly can't remember; I think, $8 per half?

The vast majority of big-bet games (except not 1-3 and maybe 2-5 NLHE) have a time charge. Sometimes you get 3 or 4 hands in a down in PL Big O8 because the dealer they hired last week has never dealt anything other than HE and gets flustered quartering pots. Caesars certainly isn't going to sacrifice rake for their dealers to learn these games if we players are willing to pay to train them instead.

To their credit, sometimes their floors are honest about this. "I wouldn't like it if I were a player either, and I understand if you want to go down to the Strip, but they won't have the soft games we have." Hard to dispute in some games.

If it's the same as past years, $20/40 LO8 is half kill and, IIRC, raked 10% to max $5. The various PLO games (high or O8, 4-card or big O) are $7 a down if memory serves. I assume the $75/150 LO8 is time charged, no idea how much.

For $20/40 LO8 I'd always go to the Bellagio instead though. Looks like the Orleans has consistently had $15/30 too.

Heard a vicious rumor the King's Room is charging $14/half for the bigger mixed games. Can anyone confirm or deny?

I heard the $14 story from some pros doing WSOP commentary on Twitch. Apparently some games immediately broke after the first time bell. I also heard that some games got it reduced to $12. It is a big stink and the Kings Lounge has lost a bunch of action. Not sure where this stands right now but it is definitely something to be aware of before taking a seat.

Nice to see the variety of action at the WSOP. Checked Bravo last night and saw 12 total O8/Big O games, including two tables of 5-10 O8, which I don’t ever recall seeing at the WSOP in recent years.

Ha, I think I was watching that stream at the same time. I'm really glad players were so quick to respond with boycotting these games, forcing immediate action. $12, however, is still too much.

WOW! I've never seen that low of stakes in WSOP cash room.

1/2 was time charge 7 a half last year

10/20 and 20/40 are raked, big bet games are timed. I hope 5/10 doesn't become regular there. I like when 10/20 is where the worst players have to go >_>
