Ok, thank you. I guess it might make sense as a blocker play? Given that he has two deuces in his hand, it makes it very unlikely that I`m raising with A2xx in the first place, so I would probably have to fold a lot. I didn't play with a tracker running, but my stats should be pretty tight.

Blocking deuces is somewhat useful, but still the play is a huge mistake for a few reasons.

- not blocking an ace (not blocking AA)
- bad equity when called
- need to fold equity when 4-bet

Are there any online equity calculators for five or six card plo8? If not, how would I go about crunching numbers to see how certain hands stack up against each other?

ProPokerTools online supports 5-card O8. Its downloadable Odds Oracle supports 6-card high but not hi-lo8. Some of the posters here have posted numbers for 6-card O8 hands but I assume they are using homebrew software.

I checked the other tournaments in the series and it looks like only the big blind has the ante

Hi everyone,
I'm a big fan of omaha8 limit, I used to play on FT about a decade ago, now I kind of want to go back to the game. I would like to know if there is some section here or somwhere else where I can find some good stategy guide. I already ind o8poker.com and it is very good. Essentially I'm looking for something "intermediate" and not for complete beginner.

Anyone ever play the $Tuesday 60 O/8 tourney at South Point in Vegas? Does a cash game ever startup after?

Figured might be a good way to play O8 for the first time.

There will be plenty of limit O8 cash games before, during and after the tourney. Mostly 4-8, but sometimes 8-16. They are on Bravo.

Should add I’ll be at the SP Tuesday the 14th. The WSOP has there $1500 HORSE tourney the day after and there’s some other lower limits non holdem tourneys around that date. Should be some decent O8 action. Than again the Orleans has a $300 O8 tourney at the same time. Maybe the better players will migrate there.

It’ll be my first time playing O8.

First time O8 will be interesting. I was thinking it might be fun to play this tourney. My bankroll disappeared during the plague years, but this could be well within my budget.

If I'm in town and headed down there I'll PM you. I'll provide coaching that will get you broker far quicker than you could get on your own.

Just a heads up: I think they are changing their tournament offerings during the WSOP. The $60 O8 may have been replaced by a $240 on Saturdays, but I haven't had any luck confirming it.

I just heard from them. They have a $240 o8 on Friday and a $240 o8 & s8 on Saturday. $60 o8 resumes after July 20.

Thanks it wasn’t going but they did indeed have a $4/$8 O8 game that was a blast. Only ended up playing for an hour but hit me hooked. I think because of the WSOP the mix of players was different. I also went to Laughlin for a few days and they have a Wednesday $35 O8 tourney at 7pm. Played that as well as some $4/$8 last weekend at the Orleans when every room was packed. I think I’m hooked on O8, will start doing more research on the game.
