from what I've tested so far (not very much tbh), not using downscaling and instead limiting frame rate seems to help for poker. it looks a little choppy sometimes, but its as clear as you can get it. you don't need 30fps to know whats going on in poker. I had 12 tables coming in fairly clear, 6 was very clear but widescreen might give some monitors/laptop screens trouble. I'm using a tv for one of my screens so that might have some to do with it.
