In Tulsa, River Spirit has a 10/20 LO8 (full kill) game that goes nearly every Wed & Fri at 6 pm and Sat & Sun at noon. Occasionally, it goes to 20/40 with 1/2 kill.

On the off chance anyone reading this might be in Detroit this Friday -- we're going to try to get a third day of the LO8 going on Friday at 7pm, this one probably at 10/20 half kill (unless there's a strong consensus to move it to 5/10 FK like the others).

Fish Galore

Played the 20/40 O8-Stud8 Mix at Hollywood Park for the first time last night(Wednesday). Started at the must move table(which broke around 9pm), got moved to the main table. That table ran into the wee hours. Also had a 3/6 O8 with a list. It's my assumption the 20/40(10/20 blinds) runs pretty much every day. There was a 40/80 list with about 3 names on it.

Also stopped by the Hustler around 7pm, no Omaha going whatsoever.

I'll probably make it one of my main games now since it's the closest Omaha game to me and I'm building a roll. Come say hi. Now I just have to work on my Stud game, but I'm trying to learn O8 as well so that should be interesting.

Think I'll head there now actually.

was game tough? I am about 90 minutes south of hollywood park and keep telling myself I will make the drive down there for that game but have not yet since I moved down here. I feel very confident in my 08 game but know that I am giving up a little with the stud and am just curious how loose the game plays. I appreciate any insight from anyone who has played in the game. I work at HPC and from what the shift supervisor on grave told me, the 20/40 runs daily. He also told me the 40/80 runs nearly every day but I'm not sure. I work in the table games section and we're discouraged from being around the poker area, however, I always find myself walking through there to get to where I need to go at all times Next time you guys are there come and say hi! SaVaLe, to preface, I've only been playing PLO seriously for a couple years and O8 on and off for a year, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I did see some fundamental mistakes being made pre and postflop. There's usually 3-4 players to each flop. The table dynamics change with who is playing. There's one or two players I thought were very good, most everyone is ok, maybe one or two terrible. It's nowhere near as crazy as the 4-8 or 8-16 O8 that sometimes run. Those are pretty soft.

John, I'll definitely drop by and say hi one time. I'm Jarrett, I'm a young black guy, have a twin brother too. We've never really played the table games there but I'll keep an eye out.

The 40/80 was running last night, 4 handed I think. It broke around 9pm I believe. I thought about taking a shot and jumping in but haven't had much shorthanded experience plus my bankroll might not like those kill pots. I was on the list for 20/40 mix from 7pm until 11:30 when my name was finally called so if there isn't a must move table you better be there early because most players stay in the game all night.

Now let me go buy a Stud8 book lol

Jarrett, yeah, feel free! I don't think the 40/80 actually has a kill from what I understand (I mean ****, that'd make it 60/120 with a half kill after all!). I know that game runs short sometimes, and I've seen it heads up quite a bit as well.

My question is, what to do to fill in the rest of my time? What O8 games are currently or likely to be going at that time? Right now I play some $3-6 Kill at the Hideaway in Shoreline Wa , but could play $5-10 . I might like to give some PLO8 a shot as well.

Venetian for 4/8, 8/16, and 30/60 most days. 15/30 sometimes gets going additionally or instead of 8/16 or 30/60 and the 30 game sometimes becomes 40 or 50.

All games have 1/2 or 1/3 kills.

Yes, I play the Greektown games occasionally despite the room being the worst run poker room in the country, I play the Sunnybrook games regularly. You should check them out.

The Isle in Pompano (South Florida) regularly has one or two 4-8 O/8 games with a half kill going, often times with a third must move table during peak hours.

Raise preflop whenever possible and you will get a lecture. And a whole lot of calls.

What is not fun is that they have a $5 + $2 rake. $2 goes to high hand jackpot for quad JJJJ or better, but they dont always have the high hand going, so you can be paying $7 rake per hand.
