JACK Cincinnati - O8 isn't played here anymore ... Horseshoe Cincinnati was a very nice casino, but everything has gone downhill since it became Jack (poker, table games, comps, etc).

The Ruggles Club (Dayton) - The game here moved to the new Ruggles Blue location just north of Cincinnati, but there is a 6/12 HORSE game on Sundays ... $25 club fee to play (each day you play), no rake after that

Ruggles Blue (Cincinnati / West Chester) - The Friday 6/12 Limit O8 HK game is now at the Cincinnati (West Cheater) location and starts around 1-3 pm, goes until midnight or so. $25 club fee to play (each day you play), no rake after that

Shark Tank Poker Club (Columbus) - 10/20 Limit O8 HK on Sunday evenings (starts around 7 pm) .... there is also a 10/20 or 20/40 HORSE game on Wednesdays that obviously includes Limit O8 and a 10/20 OE game on Thursday nights ... $20 club fee to play, no rake after that

Hollywood Columbus - 4/8 Limit O8 HK rarely runs on the weekends and frankly only if there is no promo going on that is dumping money in the NLHE tables .... There is also a $160 $6k guarantee Limit O8 tournament every fourth Sunday of the month. They have struggled to reach the $6k a few times so this might go down or go away, TBD

Does anyone know anything about the JACK Cleveland 4/8 game? seems to run most weekends.

Game was good for a while, but rarely gets off now. I wish I could find another one. Loved that game.

I played it once, and it was a good game. I was on my way from Detroit to Buffalo, and was passing through at about 11PM on a Friday night. We played until about 5AM.

MICHIGAN:

4/8 HK and 5/10 FK on Sundays at Gun Lake Casino.

I have friends who play that game occasionally. From what I know, it usually only gets off when there is a high hand promo that O8 qualifies for (which it surprisingly does qualify a lot of the time). Check Bravo for high and promotions and call the casino to see if O8 qualifies. If it does, there will likely be a game running during that same time.

Running Aces hasn't had it in awhile. They occasionally have 4-8 Omaha high and usually a 2-100 or 5-100 sliding limit Omaha (no PL or NL in MN)

Time to plug some northern CA games becuase there has been a renaissance of middle limit Omaha here!

Bay 101 in San Jose - 20/40 omaha hi lo half kill on Sundays and Tuesdays, usually goes in the late morning.

Matrix in San Jose - 20/40 omaha hi lo half kill on Thursdays, starts at 4 pm and you can sign up in advance starting Wednesday morning preceding at 9am.

Casino real in manteca - 15/30 omaha hi lo kill to 20/40, starts at 5 pm and they take signups in advance

I help promote / grow these games (uncompensated, I am not an employee or a host) so if you would like more info or anything feel free to message me. I would be happy to help you find a seat at the table - just don’t bust me!

Hi,

Beside PokerStars, where FL08 is played online? I saw some games on WPN as well. Any other online poker room has some games running? I'm looking at stakes between 2/4 and 15/30.
Thanks.

Anyone know if there is still O8 going at Lucky Chances in San Francisco? Will be there next week for work and I don't see it listed on Bravo

Yes, it is still going. The only Bay Area card room on Bravo is Graton Casino, and that's in Sonoma County, 45 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Lucky Chances (which is in Colma, actually) has both $4/$8 (with a half kill) and, as of about 3 months ago, $6/$12 (with a third kill) Omaha games. The best night to play there might be Tuesday, because they double their Omaha jackpot from noon Tuesday to noon Wednesday. I played there twice about a month ago, and they had two games going at each stake—that's four Omaha games running at once—on two consecutive Tuesday nights. I'm pretty sure you'll find at least one of those games running 7 days/week.

LC has a ton of promotions, several of which apply to the Omaha games as well: rack attacks (during designated hours) and high hand bonuses for royal flushes, straight flushes, quads, and even Aces full of Kings (also during designated hours, expect royal flushes, which get paid all the time). If I recall correctly, the drop is $4 + $3, so you do pay for those promotions.

In my experience, the $4/$8 game is too tight-passive for anyone to beat the rake in the long term; everyone's just playing for the jackpot and other bonuses. But the $6/$12 game has more action.

If you find yourself in the East Bay, I really recommend the Omaha game at the Oaks, in Emeryville. It's $6/$12 (with a third kill), but they seat 10 players, and the small blind is two chips rather than one. Both these factors, along with the general looseness of the player pool there, lead to 6-8 players seeing every flop, regardless of whether it's for one bet or two or four. The average pot size at the Oaks is at least 50% larger than what it is at the same stakes at LC. The Oaks' game goes 7 days/week, starting at 10:30 am on weekdays and sometime around noon or 1 pm on weekends. If there are enough names on the list, they'll start a second game, and you can sign up over the phone an hour in advance.

If you find yourself in Marin on a Wednesday night, there's now a weekly $6/$12 (with a full kill) Omaha game at a three-table card room in San Rafael called Pete's 881 Club. The game starts at 7 pm and runs until it breaks or 2 am, when the room closes. The players are a mix of solid regs from the Oaks (several of whom live in Marin) and clueless newbies who normally play NLHE at Pete's.

In the South Bay, Bay 101 in San Jose has both $8/$16 (with a half kill) 7 days/week and $20/$40 (with a half kill) on Tuesdays and Sundays.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. Sounds like the Oaks is the best choice for me.

What do y'all look for to determine whether the game is beatable by a decent player? Any rules or is it a general nittier than usual feel sort of thing? I'm thinking of playing some $3/$6 or $4/$8 Lo8 in Vegas and I'm sure they'll be soft but if it's unbeatable after rake I'd rather just gambool at $1/$2 or $1/$3 NLHE for a higher expectation and chance at a bigger win.

This is a bit of a tangent for this thread, but I don't have any hard-and-fast rules. I look for looser and more aggressive games: lots of action on every street, big pots. Let's say you end up with a $48 pot in a $4/$8 game, $6 goes to the drop, and $42 gets divided between one high and two lows—only the house is making money in that game. Contrast that with a $144 pot in a $6/$12 game with the same $6 drop—that's a much more beatable game, in my experience.

I like to look around the table and see how many chips everyone has in front of them. If it's an average of less than a rack each, that's a bad sign. But if multiple players have the equivalent of two or three racks in front of them, that could mean that there have been some very large pots and/or multiple rebuys by losing players.

I also like to see how much I win or lose when I'm quartered. I count down how many chips I put in the pot on each street. If I end up losing a few chips when I'm quartered, that's a tight game. But if I win a few chips, that's a good game.

Here's a recent thread on the effect of the rake in $4/$8 Omaha: https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/4...-rake-1726681/.

And here's a thread on whether $2/$4 and $3/$6 limit Hold'em are beatable: https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/2...-live-1676688/.

You'll find lots of opinions and perspectives. Just keep in mind that not all $3/$6 or $4/$8 games are created equal, so your mileage may vary.

Good luck!

I look for a game where I am able to create opportunity as opposed to wait for the opportunity, if it makes any sense... Also, games where your opponents are not making the right adjustments in kill pots. I don't have the data, but from personal experience, playing the kill pots correctly can significantly add to your bottom line and is perhaps one of the keys to success in live low limit flo8. Also, I think the high jack pot games can be "lucrative". You get enough people playing like bums on a fixed budget, and those tend to just bleed slowly. Can certainly accelerate the process.

I ended up going to Lucky Chances last week in SF. Seemed like a typical 4/8 game, 6 or more people seeing each flop.

They had a bonus promo running, they tell me that Aces full of Kings pays $300 and that there is also a bonus for quads and straight flushes.

So a guy at my table makes quad 9999 and the floor comes over and gives him 5 black chips. I start to wonder why there aren't 100 tables of this game running if they are giving $500 for every made quads. I say "wow, how much does a straight flush pay"? and someone tells me $200. Seems odd. I get moved to the main game and another guy hits quads and I start talking about how that is such a crazy bonus, and then find out that black chips are worth $20. Oops.

Haven't gone through the whole thread, so don't know if it has been mentioned yet. Every Friday and Saturday, Horseshoe Council Bluffs has a 10/20 half kill game that runs all day and usually into the night. 5+ to the flop is pretty standard.

Ameristar Blackhawk Colorado ( 30 miles from Denver ).
Fridays and Saturdays 2-5 ( 100$ max bet spread limit with unlimited buy-in ).
I is strange mix because you can bet/reraise 100 at any point. So, it is a mix of NLO8 and PLO8 but with elements of fixed limit.

For Omaha players in the bay area and northern california, we have migrated the bay area fixed limit omaha game online due to COVID. We are playing 10 20 omaha hi lo with a half kill with players from bay 101 and the central valley. Please send me a private message with contact info for more information.
