Washington State-

Hideaway Cardroom in North Seattle just started a 6-12 2/3 kill on Monday nights (last night was week 2).
Daily game is 3-6 full kill. Always have 1 table sometimes 2 of the daily.
They also get a stud8 game once a week which I've yet to play, but would be worth it if it's anything like the LO8.

Chicagoland has a new LO8 game running regularly at Grand Victoria in Elgin. It's 10/20 with a half-kill. Rake is 10% up to EIGHT dollars. It's running most days by noon. A friend went to check it out and booked a $900 profit on a Wednesday afternoon.

This accurate? Pink OE goes every day? Full kill?

It is false. I called Harrahs while in town a couple months ago and they had no idea what I was talking about.

Been three times. Haven't booked a profit yet, but it's too juicy not to play once or twice a month. The 1/2 kill is mandatory even if a player raises and everyone folds without a flop. Don't know about the legalities of that? When you going? You'll recognize many faces.

Not following on the 1/2 kill statement? I've always played places where scooping a 15 small bet pot triggers the kill. Can't imagine getting 15 small bets in the pot the way you describe, without a flop. What triggers the kill?

Scooping any size pot initiates the kill.

I don't understand why it would pose any legal issues not posed by any other kill.

I think there are some legal issues with any sort of kill, and I've never heard of a room that won't technically allow you to rack up without posting the kill, although they will probably want you to post it the next time you play in that game.

TRUE STORY: I technically still owe a kill in the Rio WSOP 10/20 O8 game from summer 2013. The floor took down my name and Total Rewards number, but surprise of surprises, no one's actually remembered to impose the kill (including me!) since.

Most rooms will 86 you if you don't post a kill you owe (and then presumably post the kill themselves w poker room funds). I've seen it threatened a few times.

I've never seen a room even dream of posting the kill out of their own funds. A kill is generally a forced live bet, not a dead pot sweetener. Would the dealer just bring the extra house chips in the middle of the table, or would someone get dealt an extra (presumably dead) hand? What if the dead hand were the button or a blind?

If by 86 you mean bar with no possibility of restoration, at least for a fixed time, I've not see that threat.

I might have seen them bar someone from any game, not just the one with the missing kill, with possibility of restoration. More often, IME, it's just the game where you skipped out on the kill.

Agreed.

When someone scoops thus making the next pot a kill, the scooper must post a kill blind for the winner of the next pot.

That kill post does not belong to the player who posts it. That kill post belongs to the winner(s) of the next pot.

Alas, floor supervisors do not always make correct rulings.

Around me if you don't pay the kill then they don't let you play again for the day and since the rooms are small (minus the Shoe) the floor will remember you and so will the players.

Also I've heard good things about the new Grand Vic game, but for me I can't justify driving an hour to play in the 10/20 half kill game with 8 dollars rake when I have the Hollywood that is 10 minutes from me and 6 dollars rake even though I hate the room. If they got a 20/40 or 30/60 game I would make the drive, but if the shoe can't get those games running consistently then I don't see how the Grand Vic will.

We've been playing a 10/20 with half kill game here in baton rouge the last month on a weekly basis. If anyone is ever in the area PM me for details

I'm actually fairly shocked that avoiding the kill happens enough that posters in this forum are so well informed on the subject. Sadly that's because lots of rooms are apparently don't have adequate rules and procedures to enforce the principle of the kill allowing players to regularly shoot angles. Thankfully despite playing over 2k hours of live lo8 I have never seen someone "skip" their kill since I play in rooms that protect their games properly. I guarantee that if you get caught skipping your kill and refuse to post it when confronted at the Venetian eg, you will be banned from the poker room for the indefinite future. And I would not be surprised if the room posts the dead money.

Make no mistake. Quitting the game on your kill is shooting an angle and I hope no one in this forum pulls this crap.

They would just put the chips in the pot dead. Basically same procedure as someone who refuses to post a blind (eg BB thinks they're UTG, mucks their hand and then refuses to post the BB).

I've seen this happen a few times where the floor will give player option of posting the blind or be banned from the property until they do so. If player still refuses, the floor will post the blind and if the player later decides they want to be unbanned they must reimburse the room.

Not only is it an angle, it's a really lame angle.

Could someone advise me where i can find PLO8 (i am dreaming) or PLO cash game in LV ? ( stack like 1-2$ 1-3$ 2-4$)

PLO8 shows up from time to time at the Venetian during the World Series. Big O (five card PLO8) is pretty constant at the Rio during the Series. With the Series winding down, you may have a hard time finding it until next year.

PLO high is pretty easy to find; the Aria $1-3 and $2-5 would be my favorites.

FWIW, tonight is Sunday night, and I see the Shoe has a 10/20 with a FULL kill tonight, according to Bravo.

OK, so, scratch much of that. After a strong start, it seems that the 10/20 HK at the Grand Vic in Elgin has dried up and is only reliably running on Tuesdays, as that's the day of the 20/40 LHE feature game at the Hollywood Aurora, thus driving the Omaholics north to Elgin. Also, my friend has struck out on his last two trips to the Grand Vic in terms of getting a 10/20 game going at all.
In other news, Arky tells me there'll be a 6/12 O8 game with a 2/3 kill at Thursday Rockford Charitable events, starting 7/31.
