NI has lots of the best courses in the world, some just local clubs that will never host events. Obviously NI doesn't host majors (although we did the G8 recently) bc we are a tiny country of ~ 1.8 million. Now that we have more major winners per capita than any other country, we have become a legitimate commercial venue for a major.

I've played Portrush. It's a very nice course but it's not open standard imo. I went round in 3 over when I was playing off 6 so the pros will rip it to pieces.

And yes I know there was talk of the Open being hosted there in 2018 but I last heard that was not going to happen. I hope it doesn't coz I like it being held at the traditional Open courses. And yes I know it was hosted there in the 50's before you link me.

I played very very well for me and was hitting everything str8 but yes I am telling the truth about that. I remember it clearly as it was one of the best rounds of golf I have played. I was a member of a pretty tough course in Scotland while growing up and was club champion when i was only 15.

Portrush was in good condition when I played so as long as I was hitting the ball well and str8 3 over was easily possible. Missed quite a few decent birdie chances from memory too.

It was when I was early 20's and didn't take golf all that seriously like when I was younger. As I said believe what you want it doesn't matter.

A scoop for me put me in a clear 2nd and likely smooth sailing to FT. I then got short and got it in 88 vs AA and bust like I dunno, 37th or something. Mad. In every other game I played I got totally slaughtered btw, esp in SnGs. So now is a good time to play me, if u can find time to drop your virtual (or £10) g/f and your pro golf career.

But I wasn't going to be good enough to be a good tournament pro unless I put in a ridic amount of practice and I wasn't disciplined enough or possibly talented enough.
