I have just recently decided to get back into online poker. Been away from the game now for 6 years or so. I was a NLH player at the micro stakes. I was an ok player. I just got bored with NLH. I always had an interest in PLO8. The game just sort of peeled my interest from the start. My question is, I want to learn to play PLO8 and work at that game, and just wondering if I should learn PLO high first? I know how to play PLO high, but haven’t spent much time playing it. Or can I just jump right into PLO8 and learn from scratch? I just don’t want to miss out on key concepts I guess.

I picked up “SCOOP” a few days ago and was going to start there. Any other advice I’d gladly welcome.

It might be worthwhile to learn limit 08 before plo8.

I don't think you need to learn high first, the games are very different.

yeah if you're gonna learn another game first you'd be better off with LO8 over PLO.

but really just jump right into PLO8. the issue with LO8 is while some things apply, other things are completely different and you'd rather not set yourself up with certain bad habits. and fact of the matter is you should devote 100% of your time to the game you want to work on, not some on one, and some on the other.
