Not a lot of people does understand how things work in poker. for example 90% of this forum thinks you are some skillful player because winning some bracelets in lol donkement (lolvariance).

Does this debate include all players dead or alive, retired or active? If so, Johnny Manly is by far the greatest MTT player no one has ever heard of. When we were stationed in Germany in the late 90s, well before the poker boom or even much television coverage, Johnny won a 40-200 man MTT an incredible 45/64 times and final tabled 63 times! Granted these were only $20-$50 buy-ins depending on whether there were rebuys but I don't think a feat like that will ever be repeated.

Unfortunately, Johnny mouthed off to someone in New York City on leave and got paralyzed in a bar fight. I haven't seen him since the dedication of the 9/11 memorial but I hope he is doing well and still playing. Google/facebook searches have been fruitless unfortunately but I would stake this guy in a New York minute.

onmybike, I'd be willing to bet (rhetorically of course) that Scott Clements outperforms you over a large sample in live O8 MTTs.

Manly won tournaments in limit/nl Hold'em, stud, stud8 and limit Omaha and 08. Also played a few dealer choice tourneys. Do people even play limit omaha anymore? Manly was a savant in that game in particular. Would mortgage my house to put him in a lineup with against the best in the world and the highest stakes.

If anyone knows what happened to him please tell him to look up his old friend Travis from Ohio by way of Bayside.

I really don't rate Clements, I've played with him multiple times and seen multiple mistakes, and other top guys that I've spoken to about him also think that he's bad.

But i put my money where my mouth is and guys like you can only scream (or go to USA to beat guys that play like they are mentally ill and claim you good player because you win toernement with complete noobs)

So you think you are better then me in o8 mtt (NL and PL) fact is that that is way more ridiculous then me saying i am the best o8 mtt player.

In fact if you showed up at the higher cash game tables there will be nothing left from you after guys like me finish you there.

Holy ****, he's complimenting your game and you still can't shut your mouth. The fact is there are several people who are as good as you, or better at o8 tournaments, you just happen to run good in the bigger stuff while others have not.

Also, no one gives a **** that you run the stars o8 tables. When in reality there is 0 incentive for people to battle you in it. Why would anyone take the time to play someone who is obviously very good at a game when there are billions of better spots for games in the world. The point of poker is not to get in dickoffs over <5 bb an hour at 3/6.

By nature poker players are delusional about their own ability, but I have literally never in my life seen someone more delusional than you.

I don't think of him as a bad player, but merely as a high variance player.
Sort of like Trelskig if he didn't focus on O8.
