BBQ or hot sauce?
1) I dont use HUD. I rely on notes. I only use poker tracker to keep track of my wins and losses at the end of sessions.

2) 2 dimes.

3) Everybody has leaks. This questions needs to be more specific because I have notes on several people.

4) Hot Sauce.

I was referring to me specifically and any one of my leaks.
Thanks.

Well most of my bankroll was tied up with neteller. I was also in the process of moving from California to Arizona and transfering to another school. Poker just didnt seem that important.

LOL, I don't know if it's good or bad that you aren't familiar with me.

Same SN as here. Just been moving up to 100PL/NL recently, at least with any regularity.

Hi Jorge,

thx for doing this well, i have two questions

1)
i find myself loosing money when i get involved w/ full houses, do you avoid these situations?

lets say the villian is pretty decent and your holding A2JQ

the flop is J22

you raised pre flop, villian calls, you have position and villian checks, you bet and then villian bets maximum and by that time his bet is a pretty big bet

just curious how you would handle this

2)
you find yourself sitting at the wsop PLO8 5k buy in, the field is 1000 people and 200 get paid, 209 people left and you would really like to get in the money, average stack is 60K and you have only 30K and blinds are pretty big, you are utg w/

a) A288 how would you handle this
b) KK24 how would you handle this

thx4urtime

1) The situation you describe is one of the most difficult situations in the game. There is no one answer other than use your reads and your feel. Most of the time when someone bets as your describe its either they are full of nothing, or they have the monster.

My Own thoughts:
Most players do not jam you on the flop with the nut full house in my experience because most players like to make money. I would make a note of someone that does this and use it against them. It would be pretty awesome if everyone was this transparent and gave me such easy folds.

2) You have such a short stack that I am shoving with either. I dont play too many tournaments, so maybe the tourney experts here will disagree.

Ok. I will play this game........

How many hands did you play in 2008?

Do you have preference between 6 max/full ring. Do your win rates very between the two?

What are your win rates?

What specifically do you think you do better than other regulars?

What mistakes do other regulars constantly make against you?

If you could change one thing about your poker game what would it be?

Who do you think are the top 5 players at your (our) levels?

Who is up between us? And by how much?

Are people in Arizona overly hostile? (Had connecting flight through Phoenix the sunday of the eagles game and they would pretty much harass anyone in the airport with an eagles jersey)

It get hot there. Do you swim alot?

Can you evaluate the anti derivative of e^(x^2)?

Why do you ignore me sometimes when I try and chat? (It hurts my feeling and I get sad)

Thanks for doing this. I obv respect your game.

1) NL or PL? I'm guessing you'd say PL, and if so why?

2) Why did you never return to 10/20 or 5/10 after the Party days?

3) Do you think you are the tightest reg in your games?

4) Hobbies other than poker?

5) Which colleges did you attend? Major?

6) Plans after school if you don't start a business?

Is full ring your choice because you are tighter preflop or the players tougher to read at 6 max?

To a low limit player like myself would I be better off learning pl than trying to grind low limit?

You mentioned you play many tables - how many do you usually play and why?

) No idea. I only have limited data. All the data questions are motivating me to buy a video card and fix my old comp. Or take out the hardrive. Ill pick one.

2) I dont really care either way. The only thing that sucks about short handed is that when one leaves the table breaks a lot of the time, so there is a lot of hitting and running.

3) I guess just assume I dont use tracker itll be easier.

4) Post flop I am better than most.

5) They think I cant call a big bet on the river. My favorite mistake.

6) I am too passive because I think too much at times. I end up just calling instead of betting and lose value. I would change my passiveness(is that a word)

7) Striker is good, Mega is good, whothedonk is solid, but beatable, but he runs like god against me(I got him to put in everything in on the turn on draws and so far hes 2-0). Dave is good and runs great against me, my hands refuse to hold. Order of how they run against me:
Dave
whothedonk
Mega
Striker
Its only 4, but off the top of my head its all I can think of.

8) No idea, but say its you if you want. I dont really mind.

9) I have only lived in Arizona for 3 years, I grew up in California. The people in Arizona are usually cool. The like guns a little too much, but they are ok. I think you just ran into some stupid football fans. Apparently they take their football seriously as I have been to the homes of a few friends and they all have Arizona Cardinals stuff even if they have sucked forever.

10) You gotta be indoors 24/7 when living in Arizona. I do swim quite a bit though.

11) LOL

12) I am usually playing 8 tables so sorry about that.

13) Thanks.

1) PL because people cant shove preflop. Omaha was meant to be played post flop. I dont like flipping coins.

2) I never played at poker stars, but full tilt never had those games. The games died with party. Full tilt only has 5/10 NL hit and run fests full of short stackers. Nothing like the old PLO8 games of party.

3) Well I play about 1/3 of the hands I am dealt. So I dont think I am tight at all. I like to think that I get the table going because of the large amount of hands I play and the fact that I usually come in with a raise. The tighest player on full tilt right now in my opinion is Jaxguy.

4) Video games, hanging out with my friends, mathematics I guess. I have been reading books on cooking and will probably start doing that a lot.

5) I started at Cal Poly Pomona, but then transferred to San Diego State University. My major is Pure Mathematics.

6) I will work on my masters or doctorate in mathematics and also teach on the side.

The problem I have with 6 max is that the minute 2 people are out of the game the table will always break. Sometimes it happens on accidentally and good tables die. Like for example, a guy loses, while a second guy sat out for a few second to go to the bathroom or something, and boom the table is dead. There is also a lot of hitting and running. When its 4 handed the table can sometimes keep going and get full and survive, but a lot of the time someone wins a big hand and he leaves immediately and then the table dies.

The rake is really harsh in split games. I would recommend PLO8.

I used to only be able to play 4, but now I can play 8. Thats usually how many I play. I dont play more because my style is to take a lot of flops and play post flop. If I were to play 12 I would become too robotic.

No question, I just wanted you to know that you almost single-handedly drove me off of FTP and onto Stars. For some time, whenever I wanted to play, the only seat available inevitably was to your right. And I'll be damned if I'm sitting there.

On a side note, it was the best thing I ever did for my poker hobby, so thanks.

I reviewed the hands I have against you. Not much info, but one thing did stick out. Stop betting the naked low on the turn when you have nothing. Its .50/1 PLO8 they will call most of the time if they called the flop and if you have nothing but a low you will lose a ton.

Below is a hand I played against you today. Really curious as to your thoughts on the river? I understand the turn check (I think) but why is the river a check call after I check back the turn?)

Hope this is ok to go in a well. Was a real eye-opener to play against you, I had real trouble adjusting...

He's inducing a bluff and figures you won't call with much that's not splitting w/him? If you have a tight/aggressive image, it makes sense. I'd have probably bet either the turn or river most times tho.
