I have data on this for fixed limit o8 (it will def not be exactly the same for plo8 but the effect is large). 3 handed flo8 btn raise 43%, 9 handed flo8 folds to btn he raises 33%

Oh one question. Do you mean BTN opens 33% of the time or top 33% of hands? They are not the same, due to exactly the same card removal effect.

This is a good question I never thought about until just now - what I meant was he opens 33% of his range, how often he has that part of his distribution when its folded to him there is something I'm not sure even a solver can tell me.

Yes, I was also pretty sure it means 33% of the range, which in turn means that the difference in opening frequency is not as big as it seems at first glance. Still, it's very useful to know not to open too wide in this situation.
