Game was 6 handed. Players generally solid and read the board well. Not spewtards, but short handed, the starting hands were getting a little loosey goosey.

In big blind. 3 limps and small blind limps as well. 5 to flop.

I limp with a-2-6-q, no suits.

Flop, rainbow 4-5-10, two diamonds. Checks to button, who bets, sb comes along, I check raise. One limper, button and small blind all call. 4 to turn.

Turn 9, off suit.

All check to button, who bets. All call.

4 to river.

River, off suit 2. EEKS! Second nut low! SB checks, I lead, all fold, SCOOP!

Was play suicidal, or acceptable knowing I am not folding anyway and only way to scoop was to lead?

If got raised, I would have to call as 3-6 got there. Would expect to get scooped, but would pay off, so please understand, play was not to lead and fold if raised.

I hate the play on the flop. I would just call.
River, I'd check and tank/call depending of the action.

Id say your line is a bit questionable. Representing a2xx after the flop checkraise, sure. But a23x without raising pre-flop? Or xr a3xx?

Similarly, its kind of tough to represent many 4x or boats after line on turn.

The outcome was surprising, but the play was not suicidal. It was creative. Good for you for scooping!

I would have raised pre, I would not have check-raised flop, and I would have check-called the river unless there was a bet and a raise to me, in which case I would have folded. But you know your table image and your opponents' tendencies better than any of us do. So well done, sir.

OP worded a little confusing but 4 players went to river and river card was a 2. So board is 45T92. But agree it is very hard to have an A3 hand where you check BB but c/r flop and check turn.

6-12 OE game late at night is pretty level one thinking.

I could of had 3-6-7 as a possible hand, as well.

Given that the general consensus is that I probably do not have a-3, but probably something as it is suicidal to lead into that board without any sort of hand, what is your calling range against my river bet? Obviously, I risk running into a-3 and paying off two bets, or better a-6's and get quartered.

But, the low is there, straight is possible as well. I am not known as a spewtard that would bet this river with a high wrap that completely missed.

So, what is calling range against my bet? I like the analysis that it is unlikely I have a-3, but what can call? Also, break down the calling range for next to act, button aggressor, and small blind who is left alone with me.

It's hard to break down ranges by position. Obviously, A3 and 36 are calling, as they both have the nuts. I would call one bet with A6 from any position (hoping you have 36 and I'm good for the low). As I was reading your hand history, I thought the button might have flopped a set, and I expected him to make a crying call on the river. But (a) he might not have had a set, and (b) even if he did, he might have folded it based on your table image or his history with you or the fact that he'd been running bad and was convinced he'd been rivered yet again. Sometimes you can exploit subtle dynamics like that.

The SB didn't take the initiative at any point in this hand; he probably had a draw that missed. Once he checks the river, I don't think he has much of a calling range here, maybe A6 and that's it.

It was a risky but ballsy play. I wouldn't expect it to work all the time, but it did work this time.
