Without reads, no. If villain is good enough to shove KQ there, kudos to him.

I understand checking flop, but I think you should bet this hand for protection.

I was worried that's what you were gonna say

Is having the 2 in my hand a good or a bad thing when I'm trying to decide if I want to call this? For example, let's say I had A3QQ instead. It's a better boat but I'm not blocking quads anymore. Is blocking 22 that relevant with only one combo of quads out there?

I think blocking quads is not relevant. QQ beats K2 which he might shove for value. Q2 beats nothing he's shoving for value.

The main issue I have with calling river river is that most villains end up with every KK-combo to the river as played. Of course, I have little idea about the dynamics of these stakes.

Really don't like this flop check.

I really don’t like leading into multi-way pots especially without a low draw on this board.

I can see making an exception for paired/dry boards but I would want to do so with 0-1 low cards on the flop if that makes sense, I feel like this limits villains continue range. Maybe something like 229r I would lead small on. Is there anything wrong with this thought process?

Yes. Almost everything is wrong with that thought process.

Think of your opening range from HJ. A2 without a low draw is a good hand on 225r, but it needs a lot of protection, thus you should often bet to protect. Villains will call with many hands that have poor equity, so you also get value. It's also easy to fold to a raise.

You are afraid of building a pot and then having to check-fold to unfavorable cards. That is not the correct way to think. Protect, bet for value, trap with hands that don't need that much protection. Thus I think checking this hand on 229r is a lot better than checking it on 225r.
