40 is not some scientific threshold, just seems like a decent amount to make some observations without doing some insane work, how many do you think I should do?
i didn't know flopzilla 'did' omaha8b.
i'm not someone well versed in statistical methods, it is my impression only that a sample of 40 randomly selected flops doesn't properly represents the 13244 possible flops(and that is without the introduction of examining hand vs. range and not hand vs. hand).
it was my impression that you didn't randomly select 3 hands from the 65th percentile of your list but rather you chose 3 of different identifiable textures. I suspect choosing flops of 'different identifiable textures' would be more useful than randomly selecting flops. Of course not every texture occurs at the same frequency and therefore accounting for this is necessary.
i can think of a way to think about card ranks that produces 31 different flop textures while ignoring trips, when also accounting for suitedness it increases to 62 textures while ignoring mono-suited flops, and so in total maybe 70 different flop textures. since i'd want to include several from the textures that occur most frequently, therefore 90 'selected' flops might work from which to gather insight.

QJT4o seems like a hand one shouldn't defend with. i would think it belongs in the bottom 10%.
so regardless whether you are selecting 3 hands ranked equally or just 3 hands which you'll defend with that are towards the bottom end of your defend range, i wouldn't select QJT4o or any hand of the texture: unpaired, rainbow, 3 high and one low =<6.
however I'm rather interested whether NickMPK defends with this texture. I respect Nick's contributions to the forum.
