Bobo, was that Buzz that played with us at the Triple-board Omaha Low-River Wipeout games at the 2+2 Vegas parties? Seems like a guy I met playing there, from the various Obit tributes here. We used to talk some old-guy Internet poker stories! RIP
He was thin; white hair; clean shaven. His face looked a tiny bit like Lee Marvin.
I never met Buzz in person, but online he epitomized everything a member of a forum should be. He listened, was considerate and understanding of others opinions, humble and always learning. Sad I never got to meet him in person, but if there is a heaven, or some sort of higher afterlife, im sure Buzz is there. RIP
i've been away from poker and 2p2 for many years and only recently returned. had browsed back a couple pages and didn't see any posts from buzz, which i thought to be unusual. since i don't read stickies, i only saw about buzz's passing in one of the more recent threads.
very sad, forums definitely not the same without him.
Wow
Long time I don't log in here, and I barely post, but I certainly remember of Buzz replying with great feedback and being very nice to almost every thread.
The one time I made it out to LA, I went to effort of letting Buzz know I was passing through. He drove to my hotel in Santa Monica and shot the bull with me for an hour or so before heading out for his evening routine. Buzz was indeed a prince among men.
I enjoyed quibbling with him over the math problems here on-line as well. He was right way more often than I was, and he often helped me clarify the underlying questions.
I used to post hands here a long, long time ago on another account that I don't even remember the name to anymore, and he would always give the most (almost overly) thoughtful replies. Definitely seemed like a cool dude.
Just found this thread. I barely play anymore but remember Buzz quite well and his patience in virtually every post.
He never seemed to get angry in spite of the posters telling him he was too tight, the game was different, etc. He always responded in a measured thoughtful way. Good mod. Good poster.
Buzz held this 08 forum together for a long time and many had learned to play O8 thanks to the cohesiveness of the online community. Buzz obviously had a great love for the game and the resultant comradery.
We will see you on the green felt up in the sky Buzz. Thank you.
Making my once every couple of years check in with this forum and sad to read the news. RIP Buzz, old school contributor to this forum and the game of O8.
recently “ found “ this incredible game, went and read the entire newb thread and I must show my gratitude for the help he has given me in this game, thank you buzz , rip
