What are the biggest Big-O tips for someone new to the game?

(Maybe this is the right forum because Big-O is so related to Omaha 8. Not sure)

dont play big pots without protection. There is more shared lows and highs... Redraws are key to big pots.

preflop equities run much closer together... AA is worth less than plo8.

In limit, must know your players.

Many players won't enter without A-2. They even will fold A-3 type hands.

By figuring out what they enter with, you can eliminate cards that can help your hand, much like seven card stud where you actually see the cards.

Don't get Scooped!

In other words, watch out for 2-pair and set type hands.. I see people potting OOP with these in very drawy spots where it will often not end well.

So play w/caution one way hands out of position and sometimes fold to larger bets, while in position with big multi way draws you can barrel to build and/or commit to the pot.

Also 'pot' is not the only bet size. Vs. low stakes players or low-sample size players (you will not be playing with in the long term) feel free to bet exploitatively... bet 1/3ish on bluffs/semi bluffs, but can balance mix in strong draws/equity hands .. and/or bet rivers that brick the low draw in 2-3 way pots when checked too.
