8 handed big O. 5/5 with 15 Mississippi button straddle Time rake. Hero is a holdem pro and does not play tons of Big O. Maybe 150-200 hours of live Big O? Villain is a 25-35 year old who seems to play a fair amount of big O. He is from a different city, so not sure what his status is between pro/reg/rec. Not a nit, but not super splashy either.

2,500 effective, villain covers slightly. Button straddles to 15, villain in SB raises to 50, folds to hero in LJ calls with KsQcJcJd9s. Should this be a fold?

Folds around.

Flop 120 Js8h3h, villain bets $100, hero calls.

Turn 320 Js8h3hKc, villain pots 320. Hero?

I would fold pre. Your hand is a lot weaker than it might appear and you have trouble realizing your equity even IP on many boards.

I think you just need to raise turn for value/protection. Only one combo of KK out there and it's not very likely for him to hold it. He should have much more Ah that picked up additional outs on the turn.

Kind of says a lot when you have top set on the flop, have a blocker to top set on the turn, and still aren't sure what to do. Would much prefer KKQJ9 for that reason.

I'd still raise the turn.

Spoiler:
I did in fact repot, then he repot and we got it all in. He did in fact have KK plus nut flow draw and nut flush draw and scoops.

Still relatively small amount of hours in big O, but it sounds like it is just a cooler as played. But I guess the take away is that my hand is a fold pre, right?

Yes. Just play better pre and everything is easier.
