I think both potting and checking are OK. A smaller bet is not horrible either of course, but I definitely wouldn't be bet-folding this hand.

I pot, SB calls, UTG reports, I call, SB folds, good result to get some dead money.
The hand would have been more interesting with deeper stacks.
I think I would have bet smaller on flop being deeper, does it make sense?

Well, if deeper potting is kinda dumb, small bet and check both feel fine to me. I guess I like betting better.

Eh hand is fine. As you mentioned, you got sb to put what amounts to 1/3rd of your stack in and fold, which is pretty cool
