Bankroll recommendations?

Looking for bankroll recommendations for PLO/8, it seems like most of the stuff online is based on limit. Would any of you have a rough recommendation for # of buyins to avoid, let’s say a 5% RoR?

off top of my head, probably like 30-40.

So fairly similar to NL then, that’s good to know. I was thinking it might be higher, somewhere inbetween NL and PLO.

I had my first taste of the game over the last couple days at stakes varying between $10 and $50, and I have to say I’m pretty hooked. Such a great game. Doesn’t seem like many people really know what they’re doing, but I’m sure I’m just as clueless. Time will tell!

well, from my vague recollection of when i used to play PLO as my main game, i always stuck with the idea you wanted to carry about 50+ buy ins for that.
i was under the impression that you would want about 20 to play NLH, and you probably don't need as many buy ins for PLO8 as you do for PLO, so that's where i came up with 30-40.
that said i could be totally wrong about all that, and maybe a career PLO8 player can and should comment. my instinct tells me with a chopped pot game you should be encountering less variance. but the counter to that with PLO8 is i think you end up with more all-ins OTT/OTF because of the super drawy nature of the game.

Your win rate plays a huge role, obviously.
