Both villians had been fairly loose with hand selction, especially bmh1744. I am pretty confident that theres no chance they have AA in there hand, so no Aces over 5s full house easily beating my trip 5s. I have it nailed pretty much on any low hand if one comes and I know that both of them can not have a 5 in their hands.
Im thinking that if bmh has the other 5 and that is why he lead the betting, by shoving I can force niagra to fold behind me and have ok equity for possibly chopping the pot if a low card comes and take the bit of dead money left in. Its also possible that my trips are good and have a chance of drawing to the high if the villian only has 3 of a kind too, rather than the full house.
It was also possible due to the way they were playing, he could have lead the betting with a low draw, maybe with possible straight. As he had raised pre flop, so was likely to have a couple of low cards in his hand, and would occasionaly C bet the flop.

Is this a +EV move or not?

Should have I have just flat called the bet and seen what unfolded in the rest of the action? If niagra re-raised over the top behind me I could assume the full house and get away from the hand, or if they flat called I could have seen the turn and been ok if a low card had come, but if not I could have possibly got away from the hand then.

What do you guys think?

Thanks

I dont know how well 2345 plays in plo8.
As for the flop, that is a tough spot, since you will only get action from other hands with a 5 or hands like A23 suited. Against a hand with a 5 you have zero outs to the nuts, and A23x has several back doors to beat your trips, and will likely not fold when you get it in.

My general sense is that low hands without an ace lead to these tough spots.

I am not a plo8 expert. Hopefully we can get a better player to comment.

Probably played it fine once you have the hand and this flop, you take your chances and win more than you lose.

Everything pre flop I see as fine, no point getting into preflop raising war without an A in your hand.

On the flop I would probably just call the all in for $2.73 as there is a slight chance you could still get away from it if turn is a high card. If it comes any low on the turn then is a good time to get it all in.

I agree with Robert in saying that you'll win more than you lose in this position though and by no means not a bad play.

Preflop fine. Would definitely jam flop as you will get called by any random 32 or A and your low cant get counterfeited. Fortunately bmh is just giving you his money but unfortunately also blocking your outs. As mentioned previously you'll most likely profit with this hand next time(s).
