Im gonna try to get used to this particular thread..... as instructed.

Lets see, last night i went to my therapist..... and told her i was posting on internet forums again. She knows that i had been previously and stopped.

She told me that it wasnt constructive for me and i should consider what i get out of it. I told her that it helps me interact with people that have common interests since i dont get out much..... and she told me that there were probably better ways to share myself. That sure seemed like a strange choice of words.... and I dont think she was hitting on me...... but, then again, that wouldnt be the worst thing in the world.

I always walk out of there with such a clear head. Does anyone else see anyone or take meds to help their poker? I mean, omaha/8 can be such a frustrating game at times. Maybe it would help to just bitch to someone once a week?

Back in the day before the WPT even existed..... Card Player asked Mike Sexton to write a column. He thought long and hard about whether he wanted to write or not. Mike's a smart guy and he knew that writing about poker was pretty much always -EV. Sure he would get paid..... but not a whole helluva lot..... and the information that he disseminated couldnt ever help him at all. So, he came to a pretty reasonable compromise in his own mind. He would go ahead and agree to write a column, but he would NEVER write about poker strategy of any kind, whatsoever. Hed write about places he went to play poker...... people he played poker with........ or anything related to his life around poker, but he wouldnt ever write a strategy column.

Well, millions of dollars and a stable family life tend to change our outlook after a while, lol...... but i think that the thought process is sound on its face. And you would imagine that anyone talking to Mike at that point would have encouraged him to PLEASE not stop writing. Even if he wrote nine columns about Stuey and ten columns about being in the military and eleven columns about the burgeoning TOC....... if he wrote even one strategy column in the midst of the thirty others.... i would imagine it wouldve been encouraged from a guy who had so much knowledge to share.

Meanwhile, he was getting PAID to write, lol.

Mike's a smart guy. Think about where poker would be now a days without guys like Mike Sexton, Henry Orenstein, or Mori Eskandani. Crazy.

When i first moved to Vegas and played at the Bellagio for the first time, i met Mori. What a super nice guy. He was nice enough to comp me dinner at a restaurant in the Bellagio called Sam's American. Sam's in case some of you dont recall, used to be located where Fix is today.... and Snacks..... was right next to it..... and used to be called Sam's snacks. Anyway, they had this Caesar salad with huge croutons...... and the croutons were actually fried Mozzarella.... and you wouldnt know it until you bit into one. Damn those were so good....... but i digress.

Yeah...... i dont disagree. Whenever someone posts a hand like this, though, i tend to automatically look past pre-flop decisions (not to say that they're not important, mind you).

If the raiser is anywhere near tight, there is no way I am folding 3-4-5-6 to his raise.

Um I think his action was fairly appropriate.

Also think 3456 is a great hand to stack a tight player with.

How often do you accidentally mix up Stud, Stud H/L, and Razz? I think I would forget to check which variation of stud I was playing if I had multiple tables needing action. How do you keep track of all the dead/live cards on each table?

For me, once or twice a session, even though it's printed on the table.

ok i have to ask, why are you more inclined to call this preflop if he is tight rather than if he is loose?
