Hopefully I didnt miss any.

On a separate note, does anyone know if PLO8 cash games run during the series? If so, when?

ngl I could probably justify the minbet 1500, but the travel conditions will likely not be right

The 10/10 event is Mixed O8, which also includes FLO8.

Anyone playing the $1,500 O8 on Oct 1? Curious what kind of turnout we will get. There have been no mixed game tournaments in LA the past 2 years so hopefully we will see some pent up demand!

I know at least 5 who will be playing that O8. However I think turnout will be 10-20% down from 2019. IMO the line is ~700 players. Could be wrong and would be happy to be so, but Covid/fall series.

Also there's a couple of lower bi O8 and Big O events the days prior to the 1500 -- Nugget and Venetian.

For a list of only the O8 and 'mix' style tournaments running throughout the series, WSOP and other casinos:

700 entrants not too bad. I’d be happy with that turnout considering COVID year.

I'm playing the Oct. 1 event. It'll be my first time playing a bracelet FLO8 event. Anyone have thoughts on how the field will be compared to, say, the Venetian Deep Stacks event (which I played a few years ago)?

In general you will see weaker players on day 1 compared to the Venetian FLO8. One year we had this guy at our table who was pretty clueless and managed to dust off his stack in the first 45 minutes! We all joked that it had to be some sort of record for a split pot limit event. He played all sorts of trash. Nice chance to accumulate his chips. Day 2 will obviously be tougher if you make it as the more experienced players will be the ones remaining. Good luck and let’s hope for a big turnout!

Thoughts on most of these Pot limit Hilo tourneys having antes? I realize they are only going in after the flop so not part of pre flop betting calculations but still think its awful. Its just makes the tourney faster giving less play.

Rewards postflop skill instead of preflop super tightness, seems good to me

This. PLO8 tournaments are horrible, because there isn't much incentive to do anything. Absolutely yes to antes and NL >> PL (in donkaments). Of course also online >> live due to split pots.

More post flop poker playing early on when it doesn't matter much, less post flop poker playing and more preflop allin situations when stacks are short in the later stages of the tournament. Helps weaker players at the end who just want to shove and hope they win.
