Did hero start the hand with 3bb or 3.5bb? Not sure if he is counting the blind posted as part of his stack or not. (If 3.5 and not 3 i think call is much more clear-cut)

i disagree with death donkey that there is no argument for raise; i think there are clear benefits to raising though hero needs to make assumptions on how likely he is to realize those benefits to offset the downsides.

I think i can view both sides fairly objectively here, and my main concern about calling is how difficult it can be for hero to find the most profitable lines post-flop. I think its an interesting spot for sure and would really want more information on all 3 players before making a strong recommendation on preference. I think its possible for weaker players to prefer raise to minimize postflop disadvantages while stronger players are more confident in playing their hand well post-flop despite awkward stack sizes.

If you 3bet, do you cap when 4bet?

We have a hand here that has enough equity to call, but could be reasonably folded if we have ICM considerations (which we do not in this hand). We are OOP and it is a hand that tends toward RIO scenarios when we still have enough chips for significant post-flop action, so this is a hand that will underperform pre-flop equity. It would be different if we could get it in pre or pot-commit ourselves to GII on any flop.

A weaker player should fold instead of raise.

I think a fold is best here. If hero calls, he's basically praying for a K OTF.

No never capping, whether it stays hu or multiway so we can still fold awful flops and increase chances of making an opponent fold postflop.

I think you increase your chances of making an opponent fold post-flop by not bloating it pre.

It also makes it easier for hero to fold post-flop. I don't see why hero would raise, unless he's planning to go to showdown on all iffy flops. There's a lot of flops that will be iffy or clearly bad, and it's not likely to get any better after that.

Factor in that a high percentage of the time it will be a check/fold on the flop if you call. Where you do continue it will always be dicey. So IMO this is a speculative call. I think best not to be speculative when shortstacked unless on a high percentage bluff (works way more in NLHE). This can never be a high percentage bluff as a raise and get in postflop.

As you said, 3 big bets is plenty.

I can only conclude: Fold>Raise>Call
Easy call
