Diamond 10c/25c 5 card plo8 - 2 pair and 2nd nut low draw that eventually gets counterfeited

Poker Stars $0.10/$0.25 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo - 6 players - View hand 3059165
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

UTG: $19.44
MP: $30.13
CO: $27.41
Hero: $45.00
SB: $43.30
BB: $112.57

Dealt to Hero [6 8 A 3 7]

Pre Flop: ($0.35)
UTG calls $0.25, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.25, 1 fold, BB raises to $1.10, UTG calls $0.85, Hero calls $0.85

Flop: ($3.40) 7 K 6 (3 players)
BB bets $3.26, UTG folds, Hero calls $3.26 (did not want to overcommit until further information from turn play, was mindful of deep stacks and wanted to use position to my advantage, felt if I raised and got action/got it in I would be in poor shape. Planned to continue vs a bet on a 2, 6, 7, bd nfd, planned to bet favourable turn cards if checked to)

Turn: ($9.92) Q (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $9.50, BB calls $9.50 (intended to call a raise but not sure if this is correct - felt this player would bet any high hand that could beat mine or most strong draws to beat it, concluded from his check I had the superior equity at this point in the hand. Sizing correct?)

River: ($28.92) 3 (2 players)
BB bets $27.69, Hero folds (felt it was a poor decision to call this large bet hoping to get half the pot and that my two pair or 8763A low was good one way or the other)

Villain has been playing well and running well. No HUD and I would generally describe them as tight aggressive and not really making any major mistakes. I never saw this player VPIP and showdown without an ace-wheel combo in their hand.

Thoughts on all streets welcome, although I will state I did not raise preflop because of my intent on playing a lower variance style while I get accustomed to the game after a long break away from playing PLO8. At no point in the session did I raise preflop or 3 bet preflop, regardless of my holding, which always contained an ace and at least A3 and some suits or better.

I don't see anything wrong with any street. You played exactly how I would of played it. Definitely calling the flop cbet. Definitely betting the turn if x to and calling V. And never calling a psb otr.

Turn is quite interesting. I don't use pot sized bets in these spots, but there is nothing wrong with doing so. There is something to note in your thought process - bet-folding a hand like this is a complete disaster, because you have a hand with nutty outs. I think both checking and bet-getin are fine.

I don't think river is a slam donk fold. "Don't call to get half" is a n00b-concept, mainly meaning that you should not call many streets with a hand that can only get a split. You should call the river to get a split if you think you will get it more than 2/3 of the time. With a 3 in your hand I think this is as close as it can be.

Re: 10c/25c 5 card plo8 - 2 pair and 2nd nut low draw that eventually gets counterfeited

Flop might just be a fold, even if we have enough raw equity it is very tough playing defense

Vs a range of a2k, aa2 we have 38.2%
Against same range turn improves us to ~45%
It will be lower when we give villain sets but we can safely remove them from turn

So I think potting turn is a bit agressive since its not clear we really have range advantage or fold equity anyway and sometimes will be making calls hoping for half on the river, if we do pot turn we should presumably be planning on turning our hand into bluffs on certain rivers where no low is possible to fold out better 2 pairs

I think calling this river is pretty close to breakeven given turn check, same ranges as above give us 29.3% equity, I should also note that this is the best card completing a lo possible for us on river aside from 2 (and not a spade obviously)
