super rusty at this game, having transitioned mostly to limit over the past couple years.

1/2 with $1 antes, 4-way. everyone is 100bb deep

CO pots, BTN folds, i cold call in SB with A38KT nut suited, BB calls

flop J96 bd suits, i check, they check

turn 2 giving me NFD/NLD and still with the oesd



kinda wanted to c/r. but thinking on it, it seems not great given they checked back flop. so i guess lead? but kinda unclear what my river barrel cards might be if i'm leading turn. the other thing that bothers me is i don't have a clear idea of who should really have the range advantage here. given the checked flop and the low improving turn (and unblocking all pairs). like, leading here then repping a straight OTR (should i whiff the oesd) feels weird to me. also feels like a bad bluff to me OTR having the nut suits here and zero pairs, if i were to say attack a paired river.

at same time if one or both villains call it's also not like they get to rep much either, especially with the flop check through.

Certainly lead. CO rarely checks a made hand on the flop but BB could, though it's a decent spot for him to lead. I think you are the only one who is uncapped anyway. Yes, blockers are bad to represent JJ/J9/99 etc on the river but not a huge deal as they shouldn't have them a lot anyway. Thus I'd barrel at least J and 9.

edit: what I mean by uncapped is that when you bet and BB flats he very rarely has JJ/99

yeah, makes total sense. feel silly not thinking these things out to begin with lol

Lead is good. We can still try for low-frequency xr but don't be too dissapointed if it checks through - after flop it should be expected.

Moreover, when our xr is called our implied odds should only be average. Villain will have a good strategy on many rivers, and we can still get quartered.
