The intrepid Mr. Brokos reports:

Quote:
Toxic Seagull of Death is a Seven Card Stud Eight-or-Better variant. Before each betting round, players have the opportunity to keep or pass to their left up to X cards, where X is the number of the street. So on 3rd street, I have the option of passing as many as all three of my cards to the player on my left.
I don't see the need for 'X' here. The number of the street will always equal the number of cards in a player's hand, so I assume that players will always be entitled to pass all their cards.

Why have X?

Was alcohol served at this game?

Will 2+2 be jetting Mr. Brokos to the Left Coast to report on the Tiltboys' home game?

Actually you can have more than 4 cards in your hand on 4th street. Suppose that on 3rd I chose to pass 0 cards, but the player to my right passed all three of his cards. On 4th street, I'd have six cards (or seven, I don't recall whether you get dealt a new card if you already have X or more cards) but could pass no more than four of them. If I chose to pass four, I'd be dealt two new ones to bring me up to X.

There was a refrigerator stocked with cans and a few Corona bottles, easily over 100 beers in there, and I brought a six-pack of assorted microbrews, but only three beers were consumed over the entire evening, one of them by me.

I'll have to submit an expense request. I'll PM you some forms that need to be filled out in triplicate.

No problemo. I keep a box of carbon paper near my Underwood for just such an occasion.
