Private app poker club host fails to pay- Looking for suggestions

Anyone have the experience where a private app poker club host fails to pay several of the players their balances/winnings?
The host claims the monies got frozen due to one corrupt player disputing deposits and the club shut down abruptly. Several players didn't get their monies.
Are there any suggestions on what to do. Either how get the monies owed or at least address the issue of feeling jilted and being screwed over.
I am sure I am not the first poker player to get beat for a decent amount of money.
