My first post, so excuse me for any missing info.

I played a $70 tourney at my local casino today, 24 players, paying the top 3 spots. We are at the final table with 8 left when this hand occurs. Not sure if i just played way too tight and want some opinions.

Blinds are 500-1000 with a 200 ante. I am UTG with the 10's and make it 3300. I have about 39k behind. An aggressive player next to act makes it 8300. It folds back to me and i tank for a few minutes before folding and he shows an ace. I had him covered but only by a little. I felt like it was a flip at best as even though he plays loose early on, he relies on that image and tightens up later in tourneys. There were three other stacks that were quite short and i thought i would find better spots later on when in position.

What do you all think? Too tight in that spot?

Let me know if you need more info and i will try to recall if i can.

Thanks.

Why do you raise your T's UTG for over 3BB?

If there was three shorter stacks to act behind you I would have min-raised or limped my tens out of position hoping one of the short stacks to move all-in. If the action then gets folded back to you it's an easy snap call. If another player that has you covered moves all-in it's an easy fold. But either way you could have gotten away from the hand cheaper.

As for making the fold to that particular player I guess you made the right play given on your image of the player. Again if you would have limped or raised less out of position you could have taken the hand to a flop for less chips and who knows how the hand would have ended.

I guess my bottom line is that you raised the hand to much UTG putting you in a tough spot on your opponents raise.
