And a dog is a great way to meet other people[and women if you know what i mean] but make sure you can give the dog enough time and you have the time to walk the dog [at least 2 times a day for a hour] otherwise don't do it, and make sure you can afford a pet, a cat is for instance a perfect animal that has time-wise low maintenance, and can be a great companion, shelters have most of the time good info about a cats/dogs character, and are usually in good health.
